Haha, that's not a bad description!

The GBA has so many great games. It's easy to forget that it had a relatively short life before the DS came out. I don't want to comment on all these games but...
I still haven't played Minish Cap and I even have a loose cart of it somewhere (it's also on Switch Online as well, I think). Both of the Metroid games are great, Zero Mission being a great distillation of classic Metroid. As for the Castlevanias, I don't know why Harmony gets such a bad rap. It is so much better than Circle of the Moon, in my opinion, but yeah, Aria is the clear winner of that bunch.
You sure have a lot of RPGs and tactics games!
I am surprised Astro Boy: Omega Factor is not on this list because that is a peak action game. Treasure really knocked it out of the park with that one.
Halloween 1985 sounds fun in concept but I worry about how hard you said it is.
Man, I played a bunch of Putt Putt and Spy Fox games as a kid!
If you play only one Turrican game, I suggest Super Turrican! I think it is the best designed one for how it plays, if that makes sense.
The Ys games were originally known for their "bump" combat. I wonder if that Oath in Felghana remaster uses the older combat system or the newer one like in Ys VIII.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that was miffed about the restrictions on shooting directions in the Turrican games!
It helps when the games can each be beaten in an afternoon!
Ys has been around for decades but Ys VIII seems to be the first one that broke containment, as the kids say these days, and for good reason. I've really been enjoying it.
That's sad to hear about Michael. I don't think I ever interacted with him but I remember seeing him around.
Fantasy Life i sounds fun! I do like some definite structure in my games, so I don't know how much I'd gel with it. My wife played the 3DS original and enjoyed it.
I'm glad Shantae Advance is available for everyone now. It was cool playing an honest-to-God GBA game on my SP earlier this year. I thought it was kind of a middle of the pack Shantae game but that still makes it pretty good.
I was confused by the description of Maki's Adventure at first. How do you have a "platformer" that stars a shark? But it made sense as soon as I looked at the review. Too bad it's so short but I'll take quality over quantity any day.
I never played Glover back in the day either and it sounds like I wasn't missing much! But I can imagine people buckling down to get good at it. There was a lot of Stockholm syndrome with games in the '80s and '90s just because that's what we had.
Retro Con sounds fun!
You finally finished that farming game! And congrats on the win! Think how much free gaming time you'll have now lol.
I've read only maybe half a dozen Discworld books and I think they get better as they go. Color of Magic is good but I'd put it at the bottom of the ones I've read. I've been intending to get into Gene Wolfe's works for, well, decades at this point. It is surprisingly hard to find his stuff used and so much else to read in the meantime. The Book of the New Sun, in particular, is supposedly very good.
It's fine. The puzzles are good. I'd rather just have a menu list of puzzles lol. Wait for a sale though. It can get pretty cheap.
