As a 1up survivor, I too was looking for a new place to call home while frantically trying to save my blogs. I'm just glad I was able to call this place my new internet home. Alot of the people I knew from 1up move here so I was glad I was able to see some familiar faces, but I met some new ones as well. I'll write something about this hopefully today so I'll keep this short. But congrats Pixlbit and congrats everyone!

A lot of the good things that have happened to me have to do with knowing the right people and being at the right place at the right time. That’s kind of how PixlBit happened for me. I just so happened to post a blog/review on my Facebook page which led to Rob DiMola, one of my college buddies and Nick’s brother, to direct me to this website that they started. I didn’t really know if I wanted to write. I didn’t really know what I wanted in general. But a few months later, I decided to actually take up the offer and get in contact with Nick.
I’m very glad I did too. I joined PixlBit when it was still in its infancy. I had a lot to learn about writing reviews and expressing valid critiques on games in general. But the experience saved me in a way. It gave me a purpose, and guidance at a time where I didn’t really know where I was headed. Gaming has been a passion of mine for a long time, but at that time I was unconfident about my place in the industry.
It’s amazing what I’ve been able to accomplish here. Not only have I been able to make connections with awesome people from around the country, but I’ve been able to cover and attend events that I never thought I would. Though my connections at Rockstar were largely the reason I got to go to E3 2011, getting to cover the event that year with Jason and Matt was one of my life’s highlights. I can clearly remember being in High School, saying I’d probably never get to go to E3. It’s insane being able to be here and think about going AGAIN as opposed to EVER.
Not only that, but gaining attention for some of my coverage has been a great confidence booster. The one that comes to mind is my hands on with Killer Instinct from last years New York Comic Con. Being able to have a voice that's heard, and recognized by the companies that makes these games is just an amazing feeling.
From the various PixlTalks and NWP’s to the few video projects I’ve done for the site, everything I’ve done has given me ammo towards the things I want to achieve. Though my output has slowed, I still hold PixlBit as one of the turning points in my personal growth, and I’m forever grateful for it.
With that, here’s to many more years PixlBit!
