Klonoa is really good!

I missed out on playing the Klonoa series on all the platforms, and after playing the PSOne title ~Door to Phantomile~ which I bought in the flash sale for one dollar this weekend, I am thoroughly impressed by it and I want to go back and play more of them now. I usually just stick to RPGs and survival horror titles when I look for nostalgic experiences, but here I've found a jumping mechanic that I haven't quite seen before and it is really simple but pretty complex, in other words-- it's a good challenging platformer that's easy to get into but tough to master, in my case any way 'cause I'm a gaming idiot.

The 2.5D perspective is pretty interesting and feels almost like a rollercoaster type ride, like a sonic game, but emphasis is on jumping. I like it a lot. It's quite vibrant, colorful and fun! Yup! Discovered something new!

I have the remake for Wii and have played it a little bit. I love the art style in the game.

I played the Wii remake and really enjoyed it. I picked this up during the flash sale too. Looking forward to working through it on my Vita. I've been sitting on the PS2 sequel for a while now, come to think of it. I should play that. I've heard the GBA games are pretty good too.

I've been told the PS1 game was good a few times.  I still didn't play it.  Damn shame I missed it this time.  I'll have to catch it when it comes around again.

Klonoa is VERY good.  One of the best PlayStation and 2-D platformers ever!  The game reallly imipacted me and even today I still use the name Klonoa for some console ID titles like on my 360.  Have you beaten it yet?  Such a bittersweet ending for such a cutesy game!  The other games in the series are pretty good, too.  Shame they don't make any more.

No. I haven't beaten it yet. I'm just playing off and on. I'm finding it kind of tough. These older platformers made you start from the beginning and do it all again when you lose, not like today's games for babies. I find it challenging though which is engaging.

You can beat it!  I know you can!  If I can do it, you can, too.  It's actually fairly light on the challenge level, like a Kirby game.

We rented the PS1 version when it came out and thought it was amazing. the number made was so small though that it wasn't available to purchase by the time I tried. Klonoa 2 on PS2 is also very good if you can find a copy.

The Wii version was criminally overlooked. For it's $30 list price it should have flown off the shelves but it didn't.

I bought the digital version the day it came out and don't regret it.

I've played the PS1 original and I remember liking it very much and being impressed by the 2.5D. I'm hoping to grab the Wii remake someday.

Klonoa 3 would have been a day one purchase for me. :(
