I finished Arkham Knight- main quest!

For starters, I really loved the game. There are some issues with the game that the Internet has made note of, but despite my shared feelings about those issues with the game (arcade-like tank battles, stealth mission, etc), I thoroughly enjoyed the main plot and characters involved. One problem I had was the reveal of the main villain, which I happened to come across on a GIF on a forum discussing Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad films. The identity of the main villain is basically the main motivation for finishing the game for me, and while I wasn't disappointed by the ending, that reveal had been spoiled for me long before I even purchased my PS4 system. So Fuck You Internet!

I didn't mind the batmobile controls either. I mainly used it to get from point A to point B and genereally loved driving in it. Some have mentioned the loss of control that occurs when you hit any old object on the road which is very cluttered in the game, again, it makes mini race games annoying, but I left the side content for post games as I tend to do with open world games that require leveling before completing end content.

There is still a lot more to do in the Gotham. Cleaning up the streets to unlock the FINAL, FINAL ending is pretty dumb. I do enjoy the Bank Heist side missions as well as some of the Security Tower ones as well.

Any more thoughts on Arkham? For the record I only ever finished Asylum, and this game. I want to go back to Origins and City now.

I liked the tank battles ok, it was the stealth tank stuff with the Cobras that pissed me off. That radar didn't really tell me what I needed to know all the time.

I honestly guessed the main villain way early in the game and hoped I was wrong because that was a lame "surprise" to me, since it was so obvious if you know certain things about Batman from other media.

I actually really like the time trials in the Batmobile. I just think driving the thing is fun. As far as DLC, I'm definitely most excited for the 1989 movie pack this month. Burton Batmobile, which is the one I grew up recognizing as THE Batmobile? Hell yes.

I actually really liked that they made the side missions more consequential, though I got tired of Riddler's shit after a while. There were 440 Riddler trophies in City too though, I think people who complained he was overused in this are forgetting that. Granted, you didn't HAVE to go after him in that, so that's a valid complaint.

I'd actually say you played the best of the series, since I consider City and Origins the weaker entries. But that's just me and City has a really good Story and Origins was good for me.

The tank battles were more of an issue with me because they seemed to slow down the pacing of the story. I liked the detective stuff and puzzles, but having to fight all the tanks, especiall the stealth ones while I was trying to finish the story got really repetative and annoying. I would have liked more team ups, detective stuff and less tank battles, but they game was great anyway.

I wouldn't mind going back and seeing the other stories in the Arkham games. I'm just not a fan of open world, but I like the way side content was made optional.

In most cases I'd be on your side, but the side content in this game not being optional actually made me feel it was part of the main game, so I liked it more. Honestly, my problem with side quests is mostly how inconsequential they feel, so I kinda liked this set up though I actually got a bit tired of the checkpoint-destroying missions.

I totally understand where you're coming from on the tank battles, but for whatever reason I kinda liked them. And I will say the Cobra stealth stuff was very intense, I just thought it was way too hard.

We're in the same boat. I only beat the first game but I want to go back and finish off the other two on the PS3, and finally figure out how to finish the Vita version. I struggled a bit with the tank battles until I figured out a decent strategy to get me through it. I really liked the side quest stuff. It was fun looking for them but I'm burned out on the Riddler stuff.

I actually liked that the side quests were pushed to the side. Since the whole game is like a Batman simulator, it would make sense for Batman to be able to choose which events he wants to prioritze first. I hate open world with tons of quests all over the map. Feels overwhelming. I use the filter on the Gotham map and just pick them off. I need to try that VITA game.
