It's Been A While

Every once in a while I have a strong desire to sit down and try to write or blog.  I just wish that they came around more often.  It is rather depressing seeing that the last blog that I posted here was almost six weeks ago, back when I was finishing up Wild Arms.

What have I done over the past six weeks?  Quite a bit in the realm of videogames.  I got the platinum trophy in Lego Batman 3 on the Vita as well as Resistance:  Burning Skies.  Lego Batman 3 was a far better game.

The Swindle has gotten its hooks into me, and I am having difficulty shaking 'em.  The easiest way I can describe The Swindle is that it is Rogue Legacy with more Rogue-like elements than Rogue Legacy.  Let's see if I can do a better job of selling you on the game.  As a thief, you have a 100 day window to steal a device that will destroy your way of life.  You progress through randomly generated levels stealing as much as you can, using your ill-gotten gains to buy powerups.  If you fail to steal the device in the 100 day limit, the game resets and you start over from scratch.  I am having a blast, and want everybody to know how much I love it.

I took a break from The Swindle and played through the campaign for Arkham Knight.  Yeah, best Batman story I have experienced in while.  This was made even better because I was playing the game with the 1989 Batman skin.  I played straight through the campaign and have since set the game aside.

For now, I am working through Dishonored Definitive Edition on the PS4 and will continue for the foreseeable future to conquer The Swindle.

In case I rambled on Too Long,,,  PLAY THE SWINDLE.

Never heard of the Swindle.  I am however happy I will at last be able to play Arkham Knight!

Nice to hear from you!

The Swindle does sound cool. Sometimes I play a game with Rogue-like rules like that. It's fun to have an difinite ending, even if it's a downer, instead of most of these nearly endless games we have now.

Firstly, welcome back! You were missed.

I've played the swindle... and I don't like it. For a few reasons. First of all, I don't like how it feels. Jumping is unsatisfying and movement feels sluggish and unresponsive. Not to mention the wallclimb which is pretty broken and half the time flat out doesn't work.

Second of all, the first level is stupid. There are some abilities you should start with that you have to buy, and if you don't get enough cash in the first level there's no point in continuing. Maybe they've fixed those issues, but when I played I didn't enjoy it much at all.

I completely understand what you are saying, but I have a difficult time putting it down.  Like Rogue Legacy, I tell myself, "one more run" but I started telling myself that 10 runs ago.

You are right.  The 100£ hack ability should be yours from the beginning...  It is rather bullshit

Fair enough. I do understand that feeling, and I adored Rogue Legacy. I feel like The Swindle is only one patch away from being astounding.

I think that I downloaded it the day after it came out, and the developer put out a patch within a week.  That is when I really started to enjoy it.  I don't think he has been patching the PSN version as much as he has been the PC version.

Hey welcome back! I liked Lego Batman 3 on the Vita. I thought it was really short but a lot more fun than other Lego Vita games. I need to get back into AK. I bought the season pass but I only played maybe the first DLC pack.

Well, i'm just starting to catch up on over 71 entries, so we are the same when it comes to being unactive.

Arkham Knight I will wait until I finish the past games. Maybe by the time I do the other three games, the PC version should be patched up.
