Called shadow of memories in Japan,Shadow of Destiny is an adventure game, developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo for the ps2. The object of Shadow of Destiny is to guide you Eike Kusch through the fictional german town of Lebensbaum, as he travels through time so he can prevent his murder and unmask his murder. the game takes place in three parts: a proloue, eight chapters, and a epilogue.

In the prologue and each chapter,  Eike dies, is resurrrected by the NPC Homunculus, and travels back in time before his death with the intent of changing events to prevent it. And Eike cannot attack nor does he have a life bar like your traditional Rpgs, the digipad, a time-traveling item given to Eike by Homunculus, requires energy units which the player can find scattered around town, the gameplay primarily consist of time traveling through the different era,s, finding items ,and interacting through dialogue with NPCs. Actions taken in one time period affects future ones, for example,if Eike removes a seal from the squires manor in 1580, the seal will not appear in the present era.

Additionally, the game keeps two digital clocks: one depictingthe time in the present day era, the second for which ever time Eike travels to, and however long you spend in the other era time passes in the present era, the cut scenes and dialog take up varying amounts of in game time, when the clock arrives at the time of Eikes death, the chapter restarts, however, if Eike is not in his time period at the time of his death, the game ends, pretty crazy game huh and im sure you all wonder where I find these games huh lol.

Shadow of Destiny consist of eight endings, with six available at first. The last two must be unlocked by acheiving the first six. The endings are presented in an alphabetical format,A-E, with B having two variations, and then two EX endings, in all endings, is a surprise twist but im not giving any spoilers so you will haqve to learn that on your own, this game has a very strong and interesting story and well worth your time, and to some of you there may not be enough action, but if you want a different game with an awesome and unusual story this is one you may want to check out.

Sounds like an interesting mix of what I know of Ghost Trick's story (the murder solving aspect), and a less annoying version of the time mechanic from Majora's Mask, plus it looks cool, sounds like it's got a lot of replay value, and I think I'd like the story. I'm especially glad it's adventure and not JRPG; I'll have to remember this title for if I ever run into it.

This is one of the first games I bought for my PS2. It is definitely a unique game. There is also a PSP version that came out a few years back. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the mood for something different.
