BaD "No, Dice Rolls. You Shut Up!"

Matt tried to kill me in D&D, but it's not his fault. It's more the fault of the dice. Our party was ambushed by greedy bastards trying to steal the goods in our caravan, and I ended up being impaled by a sword. No, Dice Rolls, you shut up! I barely survived, but to make up for it I had a sex dream about my dead girlfriend while I recovered and then I got a sweet magic ax that blinds shit!

Anyhow, this reminded me of my time with Neptunia VII. (Not the sex part.) The thing about this JRPG is that there are quirky dice rules at play in the background during combat which makes things feel cheap at the beginning. My party wiped out in dungeons several times because I stood in front of an enemy, unleashed a powerful attack but missed the chance to hit because of bad stats or something.

Same thing is going on with XCOM2. 90% chance to hit something, then completely miss because that 10%. Ouch.

I've been bad about BaD this year. No, dice rolls, you shut up!

I didn't mean to almost kill him!  :)

I rolled the die, and he got hit. It was a critical. I rolled the extra damage and he was hurt for all but 1 hitpoint.  So I had to impale him or something!

As far as the dead elf girlfriend who wants him to rescue her and their ancestral land, well... who DOESN'T have that problem?

D&D rules!
