This game is awesome. If you're wanting some more metroidvania goodness, give Chronicles of Teddy. Combat is a bit sloppy, but it nails the feeling of exploring a foreign world. You slowly learn a new language over the course of the game which is what allows you to enter new places, and you have a system similar to an ocarina for some things.

 It's not the best game ever, but I'm enjoying it at the moment.

that was on my radar too. wasnt sure if it was good or not. im more into darker themes. Im surprised that shovel knight gets so much hype, while momodora is rarely mentioned. 

Pretty neat looking game.
