Zombie Apocalypse!

Not really sure what it is about zombie genre that draws me in so much? It just does. I think it's the overwhelming feeling of near death at any moment that drives my interest, that false sense of security. Atmoshpere and sound design also add to immersion I guess.

Anyway, I DL the latest RE7 demo and it still feels too scary. I can't imagine VR, because RE in first person already gives me anxiety and it might be the first RE game I skip out on. They added new endings apparently. The Outlast 2 demo gave me a bit of anxiety as well. I guess playing late at night, in the dark with headphones on is not a good idea. My heart was racing too much. I had fun watching people play live on Twitch, so I might do that this time.

What I love about RE7 demo is that it does feel like a refreshing take on the series. I really enjoyed ZombiU for doing the walking sim with zombies and added a roguelike mechanic.  This game gave me anxiety too, so I only played it a bit at a time. RE7 feels like a tradtional RE1 game where you have to investigate every corner of a room or backtrack to find clues and study them in order to make progress. It feels like old RE, but new. It's a house full of mysteries.

I've also been playing the official Walking Dead TV show game on ipad called No Man's Land. It is part tower defense w/ base building and also a top down strategy game, like a baby Fire Emblem or Xcom. The adventure states are very short, but they get very hectic right away because zombies spawn mid level or near the end, which maintains tension. Your characters also can be leveled up and have different weapon proficiencies which you can also level. It all works quite well and its a pretty good game despite it being on iPad. I recommend. Also, Daryl is a hero and he leads my parties with his ranged weapon. Very powerful!

I just downloaded Let It Die, which is an action game/roguelike with horror theme. Some are comparing it to Souls for some reason? Combat is a bit janky, but it's free to play on PS4 and has microtransactions. Lot of weapon loadouts and armor to try. Very grindy though. I'm still playing it.

Doom and Darkest Dungeon. It's going to be a very gloomy Xmas unless I give in to getting Stardew Valley on XBO. Then it'll be all bright with butterflies.

Give in to the anime force.

Stardew is just divine! All the happy feels! Play it. Live it. Love it!
Darkest Dungeons is totally rad!
Doom is on my Xmas list.
Anime surrounds us, binds us, w/ internet creeps, erm...respectable fans.

Stardew Valley is worth buying. I might just buy it again on the Xbox and PS4 so I have it on everything. It is amazing!

It looks wonderful. I'm so tempted to get it, but I should finish what's on my plate first.

SV is kind of an endless play type of game.

Like Minecraft, it'll probably eat time like crazy.

I need to download the new RE7 demo! I just read about it yesterday.

In my off time I have been playing Tales of Zestiria and then streaming Morrowind and FXV when I am able to.

I am hoping to get Dragon Quest Builders and some Wii U games for X-mAs though! I seriously need to invest in a capture card >_<

I liked Zestiria a lot. It's very pretty.

Have you played Xenoblad chronicles for WiiU? It's quite good if you like open world exploring and combat.

I want to play a game where you are the zombie.  Preferably an RPG where you collect and eat brains to level up.  :)

I'm not sure about the new Resident Evil, as I haven't played the demo yet, but I will definitely be watching Let's Plays of it just to watch people get the crap scared out of them like I did for PT.

I find it intense, but then I found all the games intense in the past. This is a new level.

Im still on the fence about the new RE game. I think it definitly improved from the last few games but I dont know. Im just really unsure still so it might not be a release day buy. I might wait and see what gets said first and go from there.

I feel Revelations was botton of barrel of 3rd person action shooter. Walking sims are where horror is thriving right now, and I think it fits original RE very well. Exploring the house by yourself feels a lot like the first game years ago.

In scared to play hatsune miku in case i get hooked haha.

Re7 has me interested, though 4 is my favourote. Im glad theyve taken from games like outlast or amnesia without fully succombing to that craze entirely.

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the demo. It requires focusing on every detail of the environment in order to make progress, meaning a lot of retread and backtracking. RE games have always had this by way of adventure game features, and they work pretty well in this new context, but I'm not sure if the full game will be just the house, or if it will be larger in scale to previous games. I honestly don't see how RE6 can be topped in scale in any way. Evil Within moving inwards towards the mind was a great response to this, but I'm not sure exactly what I want from a RE sequel, except to maybe Remaster the originals or just do something new for the franchise? The demo is much scarier than the original game was for me when it first came it out in the 90s, and that and Silent Hill were proper spooky games.

Hey I think I'm playing the same Hatsume game but on the Vita. I played the one on the 3DS and really enjoyed it so I bought the Vita game.

What's funny is that I uncovered a whole fanboy world to Hatsume that I didn't know existed, and there is hatred for this new PS4 game, but mainly because there is another PS4 game exclusive to Japan that has 200 songs compared to this US game that only has 30. There are also mentions that previous games have better music than this PS4 game, so I'm interested in playing prevous versions now.

That's interesting that this series has a dedicated following. If I ever jump back into the game (I probably will) I will also look for the previous games.

I've been playing LEGO Marvel Superheroes because it's easy to jump into and play and why the hell not finish something I bought for $5 months ago. Finished the story, but now hunting for trophies. Folks keep saying these LEGO trophies are easy to get, but I'm not sure about some of them I'm seeing.

I never really played RE games much, only played a bit of the RE4 HD version on PC. But if RE7 is that much scarier, I might be more inclined to play it. The last horror game I played was Until Dawn. Got close to the end with a rental, but wish I'd have finished it. Oh well, Red Box only gave me so much time.

The LEGO games are fun. I won't knock them. I loved the Star Wars ones myself. I hear a lot of praise for Lego Dimensions games too. RE games have always been great at creating atmosphere, but the more shooter centric sequels took the scares away. Being trapped in some demented hillbillies home and trying to escape is hella nightmarish on its own. The atmosphere is really great in the RE demo. It is a proper return to form for Capcom.

Yeah, I just played the REVII Beginning Hour demo and kept having to stop and quit the game, because my heart was racing way too fast. Even the couple times going back to try for the good ending, I still get a little tense knowing the creepy Baker guy and his pet demon are about to show up.

Playing at night with headphones off is especially awful! Now trapped in a house with a demon!? Hell no!
