First off let me give you some input into my personal opinion of Darkstar One, this is a huge game and later in my blog you will see how huge, there is all kinds of things to do and this game reminds me of Wing Commander without all the animation scene, you could easily invest over a 150 hours in this game and just a breeze through it just doing quest is an easy 100 hours. It really is that big at any rate enjoy my reveiw.

The Xbox 360 version was released on July-19-2008 under the title Darkstar One: Broken Alliance by Kalypso Media, featuring 1080p and improved gameplay.

The Darkstar One is an advanced starship interceptor built by the late father of the player, Kayron Jarvis. In the beginning , Robert ( a freind of Kayrons father ) gives Kayron the starship after his fathers death.Robert tells Kayron to train with Arin a freind of Robert onboard the Darkstar one. After the training, Robert tells Kayron the truth about his fathers death.  His fathers starship had been sabatoged by Jack Forrester, a freind of his father, during an escort mission, Kayrons father lost control of the ship, and enevitably died under enemy attack, resulting Jack becoming the prime suspect of his fathers death. While Kayron sets out to hunt for Jack, a series of attacks occur against the space station forcing Kayron to use his fathers Darkstar One to help defend it, and this is how the story begins.

The upgrade system in this game is massive you can upgrade the ships thrusters, turn radious, the armor, the weapons the list goes on, and you can fly from a first perso veiw or an external veiw, you also have a time accelorator to speed up tim through long boring space flights, and you also have jump gates to warp to other galaxies.

The galaxy is divided into 23 sectors which contain 331 systems remember me saying huge well its freaking huge. There are seven races in the galaxy however only six have galaxies, these are the Terrans,Motok,Raptor,Oc'to,Arrack, and Thul. In Terran territory there is the GalacticUnion Council, in the Sol system,Alpha centauri cluster, again like I said a huge world.

The game is divided into different action role playing type quest, these are main storyline quest, side quest and missions which can be taken from space stations, which can further be broken down into missions which include freighter escort, transportation, bounty hunting, spying or taking photos of space objects. In addition, the player is also able to trade, mine,or liberate space stations from space pirates.

The graphics in this game are amazing, and although not the quality of say Mass Effect there still very nice. the music and voice acting are done subpurb and although the music is nothing you will want to run out and purchase it mixes with these space theme very well, the voice acting was done well and although theres no oscar nominese here it is done well.

Overall I think this is an awesome game and the only reason i didnt give it a perfect score is there are some minor path finding issues in the jump gates and star map navigations but certainly nothing to corrupt gameplay, this is a huge game with endless replayability, and one i would have to recommend to anyone who misses the wing comander days or any fan of space flicks, and one i think you should have in your 360 collection. And like all Kalypso titles this is a pcand 360 exclusive.

I had this on PC for a while, every time I went to play it the game would crash at the same point. I tweaked my computer a bit and gave it another go. Same thing. Got frustrated and gave up. I wanted to try the 360 version but couldn't justify buying it when I already own it, when I finally get a better computer I may try again.
