FF14 used to have a 14-day free trial, but now you can play unlimited until hitting level 35, subscription free and without purchase of the game. I played the game a lot when it first came out on PC, and on PS3, and the PS4 version looks and plays great with a controller. You can play it like a single player RPG, only requiring co-op in dungeons.

If I ever decide to sub again, I'm playing on PS4. So far, there is a lot of game to play in 35 levels. Even though I've played the beginning before, I'm trying out new classes this time. You probably still have to purchase the base game and sub if you want to play the rest of it.

If you were curious to try it out and have generous bandwidth, (it was a big DL for me), this is the best time to try it out.

Also, Tera (MMO) and Skyforge (Action RPG MMO) are coming to PS4 this year. I've seen Skyforge early access in PSN store. These are really great games! Free as far as I know, but I could be wrong. The Skyforge early access is pay to play, but I think will be free at launch.

I was curious but i don't have generous bandwidth.

I was mostly referring to bandwidth caps, like if downloading a large game would exceed monthly data use or whatever. Also, the game had to patch itself, which also seemed like a large update. I'm assuming because it's on PS4 it's probably a bigger file than on PS3. Again, mostly a warning to those that have bandwidth capped.

Even so, i couldn't. Play the steep demo cause it took three days to download.

Out of curiosity, have you bought any new digital games from PSN store? New games tend to be very large nowadays. I had to make room for The Evil Within by deleting other games.

I might rejoin into it but if I do I might just resub. I need to buy the first expansion, I didnt buy it when it launched since I wasnt playing.

I might skip on the newer expansion this summer and wait for upates and patches. This game has been tweeked so many times since launch. I need to catch up on heavensward anyway. I might resub too. I need to level classes as high as I can before having to pay. It only makes sense to do it this way. Why pay when I can play for free. I'll pay when I hit a leveling wall. Right now I'm just grinding away for fun.

I keep reminding myself that there's plenty of content to play that's free out there.

Which is especially good when in a gaming lull. Generally, there are more F2P games on PC and mobile, but PS4 has some good games too, especially once Tera and Skyforge relaunch. Warframe also just got a new update too. I played a lot of Neverwinter but got distracted with other things, and it also got an update I think?

One day I scanned through the free stuff on XBO and found a lot to play. I was surprised.

I'm glad there is a lot of content to play without having to have a subscription. It's good for folks to try out the game and see if its right for them or in your case trying out new classes.
