So the new xbox 720 which is going to be announced on the 21st should finally put the skeptics to rest, I do not understand why everyone thinks the 720 will be a disapointment and has such bad thoughts about it, If everyone remembers the 360 arriving after the xbox no one had any doubt it would be awesome, the one thing about the ps3 and the 360 is that everyone wants to say one systems better then the next and thats simply not true the xbox 360 has the best online playing marketplace etc yes you have to pay for gold online but the bottom line is this system is awesome online and with that said the ps3 has the best srpgs and rpgs library bar none thats not to say the ps3 does not have a good online they do its just xboxes strong suit and lets give props where props are due, and i think the major problem with the ps3 was it was released to early i think if they wiuld have waited to release it it would have been better for Sony.

So why is it everyone thinks ths ps4 will be the system of choice, well its not as secretive as Microsofts project is and when people know nothing of whats to be expected they speculate and draw there own ideas as to what something will or will not be, so my thoughts are this, they both will be great systems and which one is better will be for you to decide whats good for the goose may not be for the gander.

So in a recent short blog I told you all about a few game finds i found at my local Gamestop, I had found Dokapon Kingdom for ps2 and played it a little last night and its actually a basic fun game and would be alot of fun with three or four players, but as i had said i found it for $5.99 and then I had found Fatal Frame 2 which i didnt have the money for at the time i bought Dokapon, so i went back after work to get it and it had sold, and im pretty sure the Gamestop employees picked it up, and im still so upset about that. So im thinking today its cloudy and a perfect day to play some of my backlog, but before i do that i will pay another gamestop a visit and see if maybe i can find another gem and will keep you all updated if i do.

the always online DRM is going to kill it for me, even if it's just for certain games.  honestly, I hope that all the new consoles are good, because I love video games, and that's what's best.  my expectations are just low for Microsoft lately, but maybe they'll impress me on the 21st or whenever they are announcing this stuff.

I think a lot of folks will change their tune after the big announcement. Microsoft is probably scrambling and doing some reassessment on what the focus of their presentation will be. You are so right about the two consoles. I love both the PS3 and 360 equally. They each have their own strengths. I don't place limits on myself in order to seem smarter or more hip than other gamers. Some people feel the need to do that sorta thing intensely. Fanboyism is always rampant at console launch time.

Fatal Frame: Our local GS had all three games used in excellent condition one time but they wanted $30 for each of them....$90 for all three...I didnt have $90 so I passed on it.  I see Fatal Frame 1 is on the PSN store for $9.99.  But it's not the same as owning the physical disc.

I hadn't really heard anything about the new XB or even the PS.  As long as I don't have to be connected online to play games, I don't care.  I'll probably get them both and a Wii U.  It won't be on day one, but I'll get them after the prices drop below $250

Well my advice is never buy a system on day one let them work the bugs out then get it lol cause my experience with systems is on day one releases in most cases theres always kinks to work out and i dont want to sink $300 or $400 on a system that has kinks lol.

From a PR standpoint, Sony got the drop on Microsoft this year, from the emphasis on gaming at the PS4 presentation to the reports that working relations with developers (especially indies) are better than ever. The feeling/suspicion about Microsoft is that the next console will be more of an all-in-one entertainment center and less emphasis on games. The pressure on Microsoft to impress with their unveiling is huge. With internet gossip, of course it's completely out of control and not knowing anything doesn't stop people from shooting off at the mouth.

And like you, I'm a late adopter as well when it comes to gaming consoles. I'm always catching up anyway.

You are right about the home entertaiment that seems to be what Microsoft is shooting for and if done right could blow Sony away because the thought of being able to download mods for console games and the posibility of getting steam on a console would be awesome but of course im just guessing here and these are rumors so who knows what they will unveil, although Sony has released info on the ps4 the word is they will release after Mictosoft releases there new system with that said its going to be interesting to say the least, and i usually wait a year after launch to give them time to aquire a library and work out all the kinks.

The rumors about the online requirement are testing everyone's patience with the next Xbox.  While I have no doubt that the hardware will be competent, the reveal of the system could be disastrous if the rumors are true.  Although it is a bit premature, that's why everyone is saying the PS4 will be the system of choice, because so far it doesn't have the same restrictions.

Anyway, we'll all find out the truth soon enough.

Yes im excited about the info on it and again i think its just talk i cant imagine any system going online only although there is rumors of it being online compatible with the possibilities of mods and steam being a part of the system which would actually be very good but like you said we will have to wait and see.

The always online-DRM is just going to kill it for me. Right now I'm definitely leaning towards Sony, but I'll wait until the May reveal to truly decide how I'm going to roll. There are a lot of rumors out there at the moment, I just need to be patient and wait for the truth I suppose.
