Quick Thoughts: Bloodborne

I finished up Bloodborne again last night.  This was my second full playthrough.  I had started back in March, but gave up about 1/3rd of the way through.  Most likely because of God of War.  Here are some quick thoughts based on this second run.

I spent about 20 minutes in NG+ and hit Gascoigne...  Died and felt that NG+ is not a way that I want to play the game.  I will probably roll a new character and focus on Arcane the next time I play.

This playthrough elevated Bloodborne to one of my all-time favorite games of all time.  I knew it was great before, but the brilliance of its design shown through even 3+ years later.

My first run, I barely used the gun.  I learned to stagger this time, but not until I neared the endgame.  There is a Rune that grants you nearly 50% more echoes for Visceral Attacks and the easiest way to perform those is to master the gun....   I cannot believe how much strategy I left sitting on the floor my first go around.

Rom sucks.

This is all I have for the time being.  I think that I am going to play through The Evil Within 2 next.  I am tinkering with Ambition of the Slimes on Switch, but am not sure how long I will keep with it.

until next time, philip

I have Bloodborne, but never played past the first part where I got stuck.

Since Halloween is coming, I might try to rectify that, but I'll probably play some RE title (never played the series outside of a few minutes of RE4) instead if I get stuck again.

You may as well just go and play RE4.  That game is great, and far less frustrating.

I have Bloodborne too now. Need to play it. I want a Dark Souls style game that isn't crazy hard like the others and that may use guns. Bloodborne at least has guns.

The evil within 2 is an amazing game. Enjoy.

The weird thing about parrying bloodborne is its hard to work out, but once you understand it it becomes second nature. It also makes some bosses (bloodstarved beast, Gascoigne, and last hunter boss) a hell of a lot easier. In fact the final fight is kind of a joke if you master parrying.

Man, I STILL haven't played this. My pile of shame is well, shameful.
