Record of Agarest War is a awesome Tactical Role Playing game for the Xbox 369, PS3, and PC, the game is a collaboration between Idea Factory, Red Entertainment, and Compile Heart and released in 2008.

So before i do my reveiw of this game let me start by saying this game holds a place in my heart for games, this one i happened to run across in 2008 when i was browsing for games at my local Gamestop and the cashier started talking and i mentioned h ow frusterated i was for the lack of strategy rpgs for the 360,( keep in mind this game had zero advertising ) and she told me about this game and i ask why there was nothing about it and i ask why they kept it under the counter then she explained and showed me this.

It was so funny cause you would have thought i was buying porn lol!! But after showing me seeing that it was a srpg and was made by Idea Factory i bought the really naughty eddition, and in realality it wasnt nothing much naughty about it but it is a very good game and quite tough i might add, and to this day im glad i got it of course back then i really wasnt collecting and tore the box it came in pretty bad which now i think how stupid that was but i still have everything that came with it, but i also later on got Record of Agarest War Zero which i really liked the set better, it had more cooler extras as seen hear.

Pretty cool anyway on with my reveiw.

This is a fantasy rpg in which players contril a hero and hus troops in a span of five generations. Players explore towns, travel along map points, and fight humans and creatures in turn based battles. Combat consist of small characters standing in place as players select weapons and attacks ( trick hit, earth needle, magic light feild etc. ) and can form chains by combining attacks whith other characters in your party. From a menue screen; damage is indicated by various slashing sounds, light effects, and floating hit points rising above characters.

The game depicts several female characters who,s breast are partially obscured by small cloth, hot-spring mist, bed sheets, and revealing costumes. The dialogue contains numerous ``peeping '' references, and breif innuendo about ``strange foreplay''. In one cut scene fenale characters in a hot springs discuss relationships, boyfreinds, and compare each others bust size lol!! And they say things like i wonder if Leo prefers them large. The game contains alcohol references to,and they use mild bad language as well. The game includes dating sim elements thiugh its soul breed system which is your character pursues a relationship with a female character as the games storyline extends for five generations each marriage gives you the character you will play in the next generation.

The graphics are ok at best yea theres good lighting effects etc and the real time weather looks really cool, the voice acting is done very well and the character design is awesome. And on a different note the game is complex and will take some time to master. The music is good and not repetitive and rarely will it bother you, the gameplay is where this gem shines although it can be tough and will require alot of pateince and alit of grinding but the huge amount of combos, special art attacks, magic etc will keep it fresh. I must admit i really like this game and would totally recommend it to everyone here on Pixlbit, its a great game despite what other reveiws may say.

My score 4 out of 5 very good

Im normally not into these types of games, jsut cant hold my attention for the mosty part and I find the grid play type to be annoying. I however might consider trying this one out.

Yea these kind of games do tend to take a certain gamer to play but this game does have a incredible alchemy system i mean what you can make is stunning and very complex and the amount of depth to this game is crazy and will require alot of time and pateince to master, but with that said this is a very underated game with a cult following.

You get alot of game for the price and although unless you look on amazon good luck finding the naughty eddition although the game itself is easy to find this is a very tough game unless you do alot of grinding but the goodthing is you can set your party to auto battle and go have lunch and come back and do it again which makes grinding alot easier.

I still hadn't played the games.  I bought them last year.  Damn shame the 360 didn't get RoAW2.  I'll have to get the PS3 version.

Wouldn't that be weird if the popular genre in America was SRPGs? MS's Xbox One reveal would've been: TV TV TV TV SPORTS SPORTS TV TV FIRE EMBLEM TV TV SPORTS TV RECORD OF AGAREST WAR TV TV TV RAW RAW TV TV SPORTS.

I've seen this game a lot at GameStop and have been tempted to try it at times but I don't know. I have such a backlog of RPGs as it is. I don't know if I need another difficult one and if I got one I'd probably want them all lol, so maybe...
