I'm Back, And Better Than Ever....But Not Really

Man...it's been awhile. Not that anyone really noticed probably. And wow, college is more of a time eating chore than I thought it'd be.

You'd be surprised how little gaming I've actually done the past few months, which is more than a little depressing. Suprisingly, I haven't actually gotten GTA V yet. Every time I remind my dad about it, he says he's "working on it"....whatever the hell that means. But on the bright side, I got Tony Hawk's Underground 1 and 2, and also the first Borderlands from Gamestop for a total of 10 dollars. Boom.

Also, the PlayStation 3 my dad got me for my birthday (you know, because the old one betrayed my whole life) came with a one year PlayStation Plus subscription, which is actually a pretty nifty service I'd say. So far, off of that I've downloaded and played Uncharted 3, Hitman: Absolution, Jet Set Radio (old Dreamcast game), Saints Row the Third, and a few others.....Geez, I guess when I put it like that I actually have been gaming a decent amount.

Only problem with that is, ever since I got to college, I haven't been able to sign into PSN because no one told me you need a fucking ethernet cord for gaming systems when there's two perfectly suitable wifi networks here. And me being a broke college student, whenever I get money I usually squander it on things I....well, need. I don't know, it just keeps slipping my mind.

BUT, I did get a job at the student health center, which is as awkward as you're probably thinking it is. With misguided teenagers and early 20 somethings coming in whispering below their breath that they "think they have a problem".  Yes, an STD/unexpected pregnancy is indeed a problem.

On the personal side of things, I'd say college is going pretty swell (swell...I just typed that). My classes are pretty easy except math because I'm actually borderline retarded with numbers, but it's whatever. I'm majoring in Pharmacy because I'm actually pretty fantastic at science. Like, seriously, it surprises even me sometimes. And I'm fascinated by drugs....in a totally non-disconcerting or addictive way of course....

The only pretty difficult situation is the fact that my boyfriend (on and off for three years...it's complicated) goes to college in Florida, and I'm in South Carolina, so that's pretty nails. But I'm gonna visit him in the next two weeks so it's whatever. And he's transferring here next semester, so it really shouldn't be as big a deal as I make it, but I miss him and what not, and it's pretty well known at this point that I'm quite the persistent complainer (surprise surprise). Geez, love is a pain in the ass.

OH YEAH, I joined the anime club at school and yes it's as nerdy as it sounds. I actually got back into anime almost as heavily as I used to be, with Attack on Titan being my (and almost everyone else's) current obsession.

But enough about me. How have you guys been? Whatcha been playing?

hey Britt!  We missed you!  that's great that you're enjoying college.  it keeps you busy, but eventually you'll find an equilibrium with it (and still be busy Laughing).

I haven't gotten GTA either because I am poor, but I'm hoping to get it next week.  I REALLY want to play it.

Welcome back and hope you stick around. Smile

Welcome back!

You can't logon to PSN via wifi? I was able to with my PS3.

Yeah I could do it back home and everything, but I asked my RM and he said you need ethernet for gaming systems in the dorms. Strange.

Welcome back! Yeah college math is a basterd to the power of 10 (ahg, silly math pun). But aside from math I really had fun in college. I also was in the anime club, made a lot of good friends there too. I have heard about Attack on Titan, need to check that out.

Borderlands is a personal fave of mine. I gotta recomend Brick. May seem counter intuitive to use a brawler in a PFS, but he is just too fun. As for me I'm neck deep in FF14 Realm Reborn. Its my first go at playing an MMO and so far I'm hooked. Its nice to be playing an FF game again. Speaking of which looking forward to your next FF rant if your still doing those, lol.

Have fun at school, laters!

Ohhh A Realm Reborn. That's a rage rant in and of itself just you wait. And Lightning Returns, and this Agito nonsense, and Final Fantasy XV, AND a new Theatrhythm, and the list goes on. The day I run out of Final Fantasy issues to rant about, is the day we should start worrying about a Titan apocalypse. In other words, it'll never happen.

Welcome back. Playstation Plus is really a great deal, the only problem is that there is so many games for free its hard to play and complete them all. But that's kind of a good problem.

This is my exact issue. A great problem to have, it is, but I never really completely understood the concept of a backlog until now. Now that I've experienced this sweet misfortune, I'm finding that it's a bit of trench to dig myself out of. Ohhh well, guess I can't complain.

Well hey! Sounds like you've been busy with school, the boyfriend, and some gaming, so it's all good.

Love PS+, that is one heck of a deal. You need to check on that GTA V situation Smile! It's a lot of fun, but in the meantime it looks like you have a TON of games to keep you busy. As for your cable problems, if you're in a dorm, make friends with the guys. They usually have tons of extra cords.

As for myself, the usual: buying a bunch of music, watching football, and playing GTA V

To make it worse, my boyfriend has GTA V. When we FaceTime he's all like "hey want me to turn it around so you can see what I'm doing on the tv?" and I'm like "no, you asshole, why must you ruin everything for me?" I'm more of a gamer than he is, so naturally he's using this as an opportunity to have the advantage in that regard. sigh

Yay you're back! And don't be too upset, you aren't the only one without GTA 5. I've always wanted to try out borderlands. I tlooks so chaotic and fun especially with some friends.

It's pretty rad I'd say. Everyone says the second one is a great improvement, so I'll probably check that out next.

I was wondering where ya went to, I noticed you hadnt posted a blog in a good long while. I remember my first weeks of college, it was excatly like yours. After your first semester it will break up and you wll get into a balanced groove with everything. The first and sometimes second semester is a lil crazy. Hell I would come home and go to sleep after all my classes were done for the day. I hope to see more blogs by you!

Yup, it's been awhile. I can definitely relate, because all I do is go to class, eat, and sleep. It's a humble existence, but an existence nonetheless.

I'm working on reviewing Scribblenauts Unmasked, but I'm also playing Wonderful 101 when I can.  That's what I'm playing anyway.

You go to college and you spend money on things you need? Teach me! My money goes on alcohol, games and junk food... I think you're lying about being a college student :p
