At this point I am sure that you are getting sick of hearing from me. I know that I will eventually run out of things to say, but for now I still feel like writing. It is quite possible that I may keep it up all month and write a blog a day. I am doing pretty good so far. It is October 3rd and I am working on my 3rd post of the month.
This apparently is not working out so well. I am actually starting this thing for the third time at this point. I did not like where I was going when talking about upcoming games that excite me, so I started over. Then I started to talk about problems with commenting on bigger sites, but what I was trying to say was not coming together nicely.
I always hear these horror stories about playing games online. If you play any of the big online shooters you are bound to run into some foul-mouthed little kids. I have played Halo online on and off for the past 3 years, but have only experienced these kids a couple of times. Even the brief time that I spent with CoD was not too bad. My bad experiences with gamers online always seems to be in the comments section on the larger sites. After reading an article and some of the comments sometimes I feel as though I have someting to add to the conversation. I think that it has finally sunk in today that I do not have a single thing to add to big sites. People can be extra vicious and rather than letting a stupid comment slide or ask for clarification, they attack. Apparently any comment that might appear to be anti-microsoft makes you a Sony fanboy and vice-versa. Since it was a hot topic, you comment about Dragon's Crown's artwork. If you like it you maybe were labeled a misogynist. This is what ends up being my problem with the bigger gaming sites. The communities can be toxic and quite uninviting. In the end, I have deleted my IGN account and I will only be frequenting the larger sites for what they do best, news.

In the end I know that there is a reason that I love this site.  I have always loved reading stories, and everybody here tends to write stories.  It also helps that everybody here is fairly civil, but that is just a bonus of a smaller community.

I've been playing World Series of Poker: Full House Pro on XBLA lately with all sorts of people including a friend of mine who is in the room with me. I don't use my Xbox headset but sometimes the other player's voices come through the speakers of my TV. I had to mute one guy 'cause he just kept bumping his microphone. Another player was clearly a tween or younger and just cursed the whole time. I almost muted him, but, predictably enough, he left as soon as he lost a couple of hands. Thing is, when I'm playing, I curse a lot too, but I'm not connected so that everyone can hear me. Only my friend sitting next to me can, and he's cussin' up a storm too. I wouldn't be cussin' though if I was able to be heard by random people.

yeah online gaming is kind of rough sometimes.  I've definitely run across some real wackos out there.

I don't ever leave comments on the big sites.  years ago I would, and on news sites and stuff, but people are just so uncivil.  That's why i like Pixlbit. Everyone is chill here, and it's kind of a small community of sane people.

I don't comment on the big sites. The only way to be taken seriously is to comment all the time so that your name becomes recognized but even then I can't imagine how much crap you'd have to deal with. I do find myself reading IGN pretty frequently these days though...because they have a mobile app and my phone is all I have with me while on break at work.

I've never had much trouble with people online even though I've played a good bit of CoD and Halo but then again, I never really interact with strangers I'm playing with lol.

I think the only time I had a bad online experience was with some campers on Resistance Retribution, but other than that, nothing else, which is explained in that I rarely play online games. However, I do agree with what you said on big communities cites and why I rarely ever see the comment section on sites like IGN and The Escapist.

I hear ya on the big site comments.  I think people just go there to argue.  That is why I chose to set up camp on this site.  Everyone here for the most part just likes to talk about games and if people disagree, it is mostly civil and in good fun.

That is the nice thing about here.  You can tell that people love games.  I do not get that feeling on IGN or Kotaku.

I usually avoid playing with others online due to the nature of their ugliness. I've only had one excellent run-in with strangers on halo 3 but the rest I'd rather play with allies on my friends list.

I am still on big game sites but it's mostly for the blogging. If I do comment on something i'tll be on other peoples blogs. Though IGN is trying to fix their environment of nasty comments on their stories sounds to me it's not quite working like they hoped.
