Magic the Gathering has had three releases on consoles and despite not letting you have full control of the decks, its been a good run and the onae problem I have had with the game is the fact you cant build your own decks, which is astounding to me since that like Yu Gi Oh is all about deck building, but obviously Wizards of the Coast know what there doing cause every year since 2011 they release there yearly eddition and besides not being able to fully customize your deck, the game for the most part is enjoyable.

The graphics are beautiful and look absolutely georgeous the playing tables are versatile and mix up the theme excellent, the music and voice acting is good for what it is, and face it your not really playing for the caimpaign anyway, but more for the card game itself. The game features a full campaign which you take on other planeswalker as well as new confrontations that serve as almost as random encounters against simplistic battles. And there are other modes as well, the archenemy mode makes a return where players join forces to take on villiansthat can change the rules with special cards. Two headed giant mode comes back as well, here you have a 2 on 2 tag team, the newestmode in 2013 is called planschase where four players go at it free for all style with a twist

the game takes place across planes in the mgt universe, these are determined by cards in the middle of the battlefeild.Every plane has a special rule that effects play. There is also an option to roll a dice that may change the plane via a planeswalk another side of the dice will activate a rule on the plane card and I would say only experienced players should play. The Ai in the game is freaking brutal, even on the lowest setting, and again my biggest problem is the deck, why cant we build our own decks sure you can unlock decks add and remove cards from a deck but no full deck building, if it was dlc the concern it seems to me if they allowed you to build decks they could release booster packs for sale online to let you customize your deck but oh well it has not happened in three years and im sure it wont change in 2014 either. The overall game has some major improvements over the others,so bottom line if you love magic or just want to get back into it this is a must have, this is the best magic game on the market today although a little tough a must have if you like or lovr magic.

I have this game on iPad. It's really great! I play some other card games on iPad and I prefer playing these types of games on tablet because I think it feels more intuitive and natural. I think there is a free on line version for PC. I should play with you some time.

On another note, I have a "real" pack of cards on my desk and buying booster packs  is also part of the "real" experience.

I have been meaning to try this out. I like card games but Magic has always seemed to have a high barrier of entry.
