Well I can honestly say without a doubt theres at least 101 ways to die in this game, I have been playing since 4:00 & I have been beaten to death by Ogres, threw off a cliff by a ogre, hit with a giant club by a giant died instantly, grabbed on to a griffon got dropped to my death, fell off a cliff, got ate by a school of fish, mangled by a group of lizard men, swallow hole by a giant, executed by a band of rouges, got crushed by a boulder, got swarmed by way to many harpies and slaughtered, had a bridge gate crush me, killed by something in the dark still not sure what the hell happened there, and the list could go on a 101 times but I think you all get my drift. Oh and by the way this game is brutal not only does it let you have the freedom to go where you want, take my advice DONT!! this game will pat you on the head, send you on your merry little way then step on you grind you into the dirt and hand your ass to you on a plate. kick ass game but unless you have a plan, your a dead man walking, now I understand where the comparison to darksouls comes from lol.

I had a mage in my party to enchant my weapons, bows and swords, which made combat easier. The game is a bit hard at the beginning when you venture outside the city. You just have to have the right party and pick away at the nearest enemies to level up.  I still think leveling is easiest when you complete quests. There are missions available in the capital at the Inn, Pub, Pawn house. There are some posted in that training camp where you fight the hydra thing. Then you have to keep checking for more quests after you've completed them. So that's my advice. Mage for enchantments, do easy quests, slowly pick away at surrounding enemies. Also, learn and add combat skills at the Inn. They help your combat a lot. If you have a warrior there's an abilitiy that allows you to carry more weight. It's very useful. But I don't think any role can have tha ability.

Sounds hard, but I have played games for the mere enjoyment of seeing different ways a character can be killed before ... hmmm...

I have my pawn as a mage, you can always feel free to borrow her to help you along! Right now, I don't really have any problems with ogres or gryph's (I'm a Ranger/Assasin/Mage Knight) my primary vocation now is Ranger which lets me range my attacks, especially against Ur-Dragon (the big bad guy).  I am going through my NG+ right now to prep for the next one for Dark Arisen! oh and I'm looking for the Direworlf helm to replace my Lupin one so I got the whole direwolf look with the helm and cape...ya and the white face paint with red eyes! <---huntsmen by trade :p

Well at present time im a knight warrior whatever but I have hired pawns who are mages striders etc and they die the same as me I did see a pawn at level 70 but for 300,000 its a bit steep im at level 17 but when it comes to ogres and giants im like a worm in a lake waiting to get killed lol.

the cyclops are easier to take down if you climb on their back/arm and hack away at their weapon arm to disarm them. I also liked using oil and fire bolt arrows to make them catch fire.

So basicly I need to stick with quest that have a yellow circle and not quest with red which im assuming are main quest.

they don't tell you how it goes, with the color coding but red quests tend to be super difficult and above your level, yellow are on par for your level, green should be super easy, and grey you should be able to do while sleeping rolling your face over the controller :p

I have a level 68 pawn mage, I don't think I have an RC value on her if you would like to borrow her, though it may make the game a bit to easy and take the challenge away. You can find me on Xlive as "HallowedSilent" and my pawn is "Kuene"

Oh and I forgot, once you get past level 6, ditch rook in favor of a pawn of proper level.

yea i ditched rook like at level 5 im on level 17 and most of my pawns are the same but maybe i will look it up for dealing with the stupid ogres that seem to beat me to death. :-)
