One of the best Srpgs ever

 Happy Good Friday all!!!!

what is the perfect team for Final Fantasy Tactics?Final Fantasy Tactics, no matter what you may think, is the greatest RPG of all time. Hands down. There is no other.

Keep in mind that I am only referring to the Final Fantasy Tactics on the original Playstation (or PSN download). I’m sure the PSP version is great because it’s a direct port, but the FFT Advance games on the Gameboy Advance and the DS are stupid. Yes, they have more character classes, but skills are acquired through using weapons which is dumb because I can’t cheat and get the best skills early in the game through my own hard work and training. It’s almost as if FFTA was designed to ensure everyone THOUGHT they had freedom when they really didn’t.

So . . . many . . . possibilities.

The original Final Fantasy Tactics, however, is perfect because it is completely open as to how you want to make your team. It’s been said (mostly just by me) that each person’s FFT game is like a snowflake in that no two FFT experiences are exactly the same. Still, there must be a perfect team that is unstoppable

Final Fantasy Tactics is a game that every time I load it up to play it just for a few I end up playing for weeks it never fails but the addiction is in the character creation and how the skill tree gets you grinding so you can turn that Squire into a wizard or Archer etc.

I know theres a lot of rpgs out there but how many srpgs are still being purchased and played so long after its release, answer not many, but thats why this srpg is so awesome at any rate if you need me I started my 1.000 times restart to one of the best srpgs ever.

This game taught me that I don't like strategy RPGs.

For years, I said the same thing Cary.  But, then I started playing Shininig Force II on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection and things just started to "click" for me.  So maybe I'm ready to FF Tactics another try.  Of course, I don't have the time to find out at the moment because I've got some other games I need to play.

Yea one of the biggest problems with srpgs are that they are very time consuming and require alot of grinding and time to play and you really have to love them to commit to them for the time they require.

My first SRPG was actually FFT: A2 for the DS.  From there I descended into Tactics Ogre and FFT.  I was a late bloomer for SRPG's, but my love for them is deep now.

Now you know why NIS and Atlus is so dear to me.

I tend to have difficulty getting into SRPGs, but I did quite enjoy Fire Emblem Awakening.  I have been eyeing both this game, or its remake and Tactics Ogre for a while now.  I just wish that I didn't already have a massive backlog of regular RPGs to contend with.

Just remember that although the remake is awesome theres nothing quite like the psx version and FFT is so damn addicting I must have restarted my games 1.000 times lol!!

Am I on some sort of nega-world proxy server Pixlbit where everyone suddenly shares my feelings about SRPGs?

And you know what? It does matter what I think, and I say Metal Marines is the best ... well actually that's an RTS, but you know what? I don't care! Metal Marines is the best SRPG ever cause it has exploding robots.

I would except that Joe but its not turn based so not!! LolTongue Out

So you're not going to except it just because it's not turn-based? Alright! Awesome! Tongue Out

Jokes about the incorrect usage of accept/except aside, actually Metal Marines might be a turn-based game and I just mislabeled it because it has been so long since I've played it. I think it's an RTS, but maybe it is a turn-based ummm ... S.

FF Tactics is a standard-bearer for the genre, and with good reason. This is a true masterpiece of a game. It was the first SRPG I really got into, and it ignited a big passion in me for the genre.

And until 2008, I would have agreed with you wholeheartedly. Then Valkyria Chronicles and Sakura Wars came out. :)

Although awesome games I cant say there better then Tactics Ogre although I have played both games and love them by the way nothing I have ever played can touch Tactics Ogre or Final Fantasy Tactics. But Valkyrie Chronicles is one great game as well .

The only game of this genre I enjoyed just as much as FF tactics was Ogre Battle. Vandal Hearts 2 is pretty damn good too and the story line is veryy mature and dark.

Actually Vandal Hearts is my 3rd favorite lol awesome game but Stella Dues is quickly becoming one of my favorites as well.

I played a bit on it on PSP but was scared off by the complexity of it. I will return though. I love SRPGs.

The psx version and the psp version are a bit different I would recommend getting the psx emulator off google play or ios store and get the psx version of FFT the emulator is free but you cant save unless you buy it for like 4 bucks totally worth it not to mention every psx rom is free.

FF Tactics is ok.  Kind of complex, just like Knight said.
