So this little game called Soul Nomad is a game I have had in my collection for a long time, I actually accedently fell into it, I was bidding on Ebay and ended up getting it for like $12 so I loaded it up and to my surprise ended up playing all night, and what a great game this is and the name gig will forever be embedded in your head.

So first a little history lesson on the game, the game here in the states is known as Soul Eater and in Japan is calledSoul Cradle and the cover art on the top of my blog is the Japan import version, The game is by Nippon Ichi, or NIS. The game was released February 15 2007 in Japan and September 25 2007 in the US.

And the story in short goes like this, one day the protagonist and Dannete are called forth by old lady Layna and given weapons which is a choice to pick your weapons, To help guard the village . Danette who has always dreamed of protecting the village, is overjoyed and is given twin daggers and you are given the black sword the moment you take hold of the black sword it begins to insult and swear at Layna both you and Danette are confused at this point, it is revealed that 200 years ago Layna destroyed the shadow and sealed its soul into the black sword, the shadow goes by the name gig, who you will get to know and put up with his bad language and his shenanigens to try and convince you to release him which by all means do not listen to him.

The gameplay is where this game shines, the player is given the ability to creat squads, with up to 25 different character types that you can add to your squad,squads can be merged to creat more powerful squads,and you can create rooms which is really different organization rooms for different positioning of you squads and your different types of units can be archers to mages to warriors etc, in addition players can attack towns and fight npcs who inhabite them, it is possible to steal items from shops or npcs,alternately can recruit npc into his or hers army.

So as you can see it an awesome srpg that is huge and best off is done by my all time favorite Nipon Ichi slash NIS but really if you have never played it, It really is worth playing gig is absolutely hillarious and really makes the game, and hes always trying to trick you into releasing him which by all cost dont, he is very powerful and can be dangerous to control, but during certain events you do release him and the damage he causes is absolutely rediculous,so in short if your a fan of NIS games or just want a different srpg game then this one is for you, the recruiting of the different types are very cool and the squad battles as shown in the pic is not like your normal nippon ichi game but most definetly an awesome experience, and I highly recommend this game to any fannof srpgs.
