Let me see if I can remember what I have played through so far this year...  Killzone Mercenary, Thomas Was Alone, Strider, Super Mario 3D Land, inFamous:  Second Son, Wolfenstein:  The New Order, a bit of MGS: Ground Zeroes, Twilight Princess, Super Metroid, Velocity Ultra, Skyward Sword, Mega Man X...  I guess I just bounce all over the place seeing as there are only a handful of games that actually were released in 2014.

Wolfenstein is probably at the top of my list as far as games released in 2014.  I loved the blend of the old and new school FPS design.

Strider scratched that Metroid itch that I have on a yearly basis, but not enough to prevent me from replaying Super Metroid.

The few rounds of Mario Kart 8 were awesome and I hope to dive back into that game sometime this fall.

Back in July, I wrote a blog about my best games of 2014 so far.  I'd like to encourage you to go read that.

The only game I have of this year is Valdis Story: Abyssal City, and I haven't even started it.

Most of the early part of this year was spent on my 3DS so SMT IV and Bravely Default from there.

On the PS3 I've played older games like Tales of Graces F, Silent Hill 2 and 3 and FF X. Of recent games I can only think of Rainbow Moon for PS3 and on PC the port of Trails in the Sky which is ancient.

Dark Souls 2 so far only because that's the newest game I played. That probably won't last long with Alien Isolation, Dragon Age 3, Far Cry 4, Shadow of Mordor, and Pillars of Eternity all coming very soon this year. Not to mention Destiny.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned South Park: The Stick of Truth yet. Everybody all over this site and across the gaming world in general adored that game and immediately put it up as a GOTY contender, but since it was much earlier in the year people must be having a brain fart about it (pun intended).

Titanfall and Layton vs Wright are my two favorites of this year so far. Though that will probably change soon with all the new games coming out.

Rogue Legacy (Vita), TxK, Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition, Fez (Vita), Steamworld Dig (Vita), South Park: The Stick of Truth.

Mario Kart 8, Bravely Default, Tales of Xillia 2, Tales of Symphonia Chronicles.

Rogue Legacy is fun, though I won't be spending more time on it.

Dark Souls 2 (ps3), Wolfenstein The New Order....other than that I've been playing older games.

Off the top of my head, Arkham Origins is the best game I've played this year ... which is annoying, cause my laptop doesn't like that game. Tomb Raider? Ran fine on normal settings, able to play for long sits. Origins? Shuts my laptop down with less and less time to play as I progress through the game, with every graphics option on the lowest possible setting. It's not memory, so the area I'm in in the game must be temporarily boosting things in a way my laptop can't handle. Stupid Bane fight.

Games played in 2014? Let's see. Gravity Rush, Super Mario 3D World, Journey, Velocity Ultra, Gears of War 3, Dead Space, Mario Kart 8. That's a decent list. I think MK8 is the only one that actually came out this year lol.

The game I played the most this year was Dragon Age: Origins (360).  

I've been keeping a list of most played for the year so far. I think EDF2025 is going to overtake B2 before the year's out.
