I feel bad for neglecting to post this week. I actually miss some of the bloggers on here when they stop posting. I'll try to at least put a weekly blog if I can.

I've actually stopped playing games for a while and started binge watching TV and Film for a change. If you want to know, I purchased Deadly Premonition on PSN and I've been making good progress through it, I really enjoy the story and characters desptie some control and game design issues, fuck it, it's $6.

In the spirit of the game I went back and watched all of Twin Peaks TV Show. I don't remember watching the show when it aired in the early 90's because I was a kid, but I do remember it being a big deal at the time. Now that I'm a bit older, I really sat back and absorbed the whole show, and I can say it is probably one of my favorite TV shows of all time! I can't believe I went through my whole life without ever watching this show? It has everything I enjoy in media, music, atmosphere, visuals, acting, story, mystery, magic, horror-- it's just super great and I just love it!

I especially loved the film version that accompanied the series, "Fire Walk With Me" in which we see a brutal depiction of a small town prom queen quite literally decend into hell. I've never been much of a film nerd, but I went back and started watching some David Lynch movies, Blue Velvet and Eraserhead. I don't think I was sophisticated enough to understand these films when they originally released, but I can surely appreciate them now. I didn't know I was a David Lynch fan?

Aside from film and TV, I played a bit of the Smash Bros demo which I received from one of you lovely Pixlbit bloggers and I really appreciate it. I think the game is just great and I look forward to purchasing when it releases. I'm also just awaiting the launch for ArcheAge and I want to explore the Delta quadrant and meet the Voyager cast in the latest expansion for Star Trek Online.

As for my horror/shooters of fall, I'm playing Deadly Premonition on PS3 and REvelations on 3DS.

As for reading...
I read there is a diary that accompanies the Twin Peaks series that is supposed to be really informative and cool, so I need to hunt it down. Did I mention how fucked up and demented the show was? I can't believe it aired on televison when it did? It would never air today. It's way too dark and weird.

Deadly Premonition looks interesting. I'd like to play it sometime.

It's a murder mystery with wierd as characters. The town is interesting though.

I honestly never heard much about Twin Peaks when I was younger, but then again, we didn't have cable.

It wasn't on cable. It was on regular network television. That's what I found so surprising and shocking. It would probably be on HBO, AMC or Showtime today.

I have no idea where I read in your blog that it came on AMC, since I just re-read it and don't see that channel mentioned anywhere but your response to me. Huh. I'm seeing things.

Huh? The show aired in the early 90's on ABC. The show is like 25 years old now. You can probably see it on Netflix or DVD. There was recently a Blu-ray released which included the whole show, including the movie I mentioned. I was just saying the show was so wierd that it wouldnt air on network television today. It would only be on HBO or something.

No I know. I'm saying when I wrote that comment I saw AMC mentioned somewhere in your blog and I guess I was seeing things, cause I upon re-reading your blog I don't see that channel mentioned. Ah well.

I've been playing Deadly Premonition also.  I'm also really enjoying it, although the controls are awful.  I like the quirkiness to it, and the obvious Twin Peaks vibe.

Twin Peaks is also one of my favorite shows.  I re-watched it for the second time maybe about 6 months ago.  I'm just realizing that I forgot to re-watch the movie though.  I know I was disappointed with it the first time I saw it, probably because it wasn't the direct sequel I was hoping for.  I need to watch it again though, because I don't really remember much about it.

David Lynch movies in general are great.  Eraserhead is one of the strangest movies I've seen.  My favorite is probably Mulholland Drive, followed by Blue Velvet.

I can understand the feeling about the movie, but I honestly really loved it, although it was super dark and gross and didn't stay in tune with the quirkiness of the TV show. I actually would have loved a continuation of the TV show, especially after the end of the second season was left with a cliff hanger. I think the whole show is great and short enought to rewatch. I like the depiction of Laura  Palmer and her tragic death in the movie.

Twin Peaks was a major milestone in my teenaged life.  there wasn't a lot of "Weird" media around at that time in the mainstream, and we didn't have netflix or the internet, so Twin Peaks was a shock to the system.  I loved it.  And when Fire Walk with Me came out I saw it in the theater.  That movie is amazing!

I'm glad you're enjoying it.  It's a great story.

Yes! It is truly great! You're lucky you were able to watch it as in unfolded on TV the first time and caught the film in theatres to top it off. I would have loved to watch this in theatres.

I need to get Deadly Premonition off PSN while it's on sale.  I have the 360 version, but I've been told the PS3 version is better.

The PS3 version is better. Believe it or not the 360 games controls are worse that the PS3 game.

I own the 360 version as well and there are some enhancements to the PS3 version controls, but the game is still pretty clunky when it comes to the map and driving. I'm enjoying the PS3 version though.

I bought Deadly Premonition the last time it was on sale with all the DLC. I will get back to it once I have a functioning PS3 because it's really fun and a lot of what seems cheesy and awkward is intentional. Kinda like Twin Peaks.

Yeah! It's super cheezy and fun. It's really long though, so I can understand the break from it.

Man I remember I used to catch parts of episodes of Twin Peaks (mainly because everyone was saying "Who killed Laura Palmer") and it was just odd to younger Chris. I ended up watching Fire Walk With Me in college and I actually liked the movie. I should go back and rewatch the series.

I can see myself watching Twin Peaks at least once a year every year-- I think it's timeless. I loved the movie as well, and one of David Lynchs best. It's definitely rewatchable.
