My Bid to get You to Play Xcom Enemy within or Unknown

So not to be pushy oh hell yes im being pushy but for those of you who have not played this you really should take the time to play it and for those of you who have psn plus Xcom Enemy Unknown is free. So theres no excuse for you to at least load it up and play 3 or 4 missions and im betting once you do you will be hooked just like I did, I have put in 56 hours in a weekend and never got tired of it or bored.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown kicked off with a chilling quote from Arthur C. Clarke:

“Two possibilities exist: Either we are alone in the Universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying.”

With those words, the tone was set for a classic sci-fi first-encounter invasion story. Enemy Within replaces that quote with one from Buckminster Fuller:

“Those who play with the Devil’s toys will be brought by degrees to wield his sword.”

Once again, Firaxis has perfectly captured the essence of the plot elements this expansion includes in a few simple words. While Clarke’s quote was chilling, Fuller’s is unsettling — and that is the tone for Enemy Within’s subplots of dabbling with alien genetic technology.

I just felt like this game was too hard. I was in a casual mood when I got this and I got frustrated easily. Might give it another go some time.

Ditto. I made it a couple hours in and the difficulty spiked really high. I tried to stick with it but ended up moving on,

I was also playing Fire Emblem on 3DS at the time and it pretty much playes the same, except it's super adorable!

First off set it on easy 2nd when you begin try to upgrade your weapons to lasers as soon as possible and use overwatch all the time at the beginning.

Ok then put it on normal and get your butt kicked lol!! Just kidding normal is not hard just make use of overwatch and you will be fine and make sure you get two snipers and make them bad ass ;)

I can't wait to play this. I have it on my list and will get to it soon. Oh yea, can you tell me whether I should have Enemy Within as well as Enemy Unknown.

Yes Joe its good lol!! & yes Knight get both within is the expansion and adds Mech upgrades etc!!

Which version is better do you think? The Xbox 360 or PS3 version. Is there a dedicated online mode for the game? I only ask because I usually buy online centric versions of games on Xbox 360 and single player versions of the game on PS3 for consistency sake.

From there I'll decide when I get to them. though I still would want to play The Bureau first.

Probably there is a good chance. i wrote a comparison piece of this game last year during Octoberween that shared my disapointment on what happened to The Bureau when it was known as XCOM back then. I'd still want to try it if only to see the final result of a game I was interested it. To see if they truley jacked it up or if there is anything salvageable from the original concept of a XCOM FPS.

I would get the 360 version since its better in my opinion Darths right about the Bureau its more of a strategy slash fps I personally like it but you may want to read up on that version and Xcom Enemy Unknown or Within are awesome I didnt see no problems on the ps3 version I actually have Enemy Unknown on psn for free and it plays fine but Xcom enemy within I have on the 360.

I should try and play these X Com games, heck I bought some triple pack on the 360 and it was one of the games. I think what's holding me back is that I didn't like the Playstation 1 version.

If you have a ps3 and have psn plus you can get Enemy Unknown for free but get Xcom Enemy Unknown or if your a fan of Mechs get Enemy Within but Enemy Within is harder then unknown so I would get Xcom Enemy Unknown and check it out I would bet my game you will love it its a awesome and addicting game.
