Platinum, Baby!

I still need to finish Shadow. I like the game when it focuses on puzzles, exploration and platforming, but I really don't like the towns they added into it. I keep spending too much time just wandering around looking for the interesting stuff. Combat also feels worse than Rise and 2013, but not sure why.

I remember watching 12 Angry Men for a psychology class and loved it. Really surprised how well that movie held up. Can't wait until Hollywood announces a remake starring Adam Sandler and his SNL buddies that's nothing but racist humor and fart jokes.

What is this word "hard"? Do you mean when a game is like Dark Souls?

Pokemon Let's Go Eevee/Pikachu Review

Yes, you can transfer Pokemon from Go to Let's Go in the Pokepark, which is where the Safari Zone used to be. Once there, you must catch them inside the park. Pokemon caught in Let's Go can't be transferred to Go, however.

Too Many Sales & What I've Been Playing

There's an option in Kotor to let you move during combat. Actually has a bunch of tweaks there, you can set how you want your party AI to react, whether you want to pause after each command, etc. Hope you enjoy that one

As for my Black Friday, I got Spyro, PSVR with Astro Bot/Moss, and Mega Man 11 on Switch.

1 Year Later: Captain N's thoughts on Super Mario Odyssey

I liked Odyssey but didn't love it. Mechanically it's perfect and just fun to run around the worlds but I'm not a fan of how they handle moons. Getting them is usually way too easy and because I'll get one from something like opening boxes it's not satisfying when I get one from legitimately accomplishing something. I'd be up for a sequel that adds some extra challenge and doesn't hand a single collectable like candy.

Ranking 2D Castlevania Games

I don't think the 6th or 7th gen 3D entries are bad games, but they just don't stand out to me. I see all the games they're taking inspiration from without bringing enough new to the table or give the game its own flavor.

Nickelodeon Kart Racers Review

I think the reason Hey Arnold got included was because of its recent TV movie. Wouldn't be surprised if Nick wants to test the water for a full blown reboot. Thing about their current cartoons is they only have four currently airing and one of the two not represented is involved with the Dan Schneider controversy. Still, no Loud House is pretty baffling.

Looks like there isn't since the game didn't reach its funding goal.

Marvel's Spider-Man Review

Posted on 09/28/2018 at 11:08 AM | Filed Under Review

Fuck I actually do remember Shadow of Rome. Wish that game was better than it was. As for Spidey's stealth elements, there's actually enough elements here to make for good (not great) stealth gameplay, they're just always segmented. MJ has items to distract guards and a taser while Miles can hack into things. There's also a bizarre segment where you control MJ and have Spidey pick out guards in your way and an area at the end that feels surprsigingly nonlinear. If all these bits came together, I feel it could work. But instead I get what feels like the tutorial for a better stealth game every time there's a stealth segment.

Peter Parker's suitless bits can be justified when he does lab and detective work. The lab bits are admittedly just that pipe minigame Bioshock also ripped off, but the detective bits can have fun puzzles. Thing is there's unjustified parts where you just walk around as him for way too long, have a cutscene, then it's back to normal. They have the tools to make these weaknesses work in a sequel and while I'd be happy to see a sequel axe these, I am curious if they could make them work.

God of War & Okami

The part you're at in God of War was just where I started to realize the game wasn't for me. The story kept getting better as I pushed through while the gameplay and puzzles felt more tedious each time until I couldn't push through anymore and sent it back to Gamefly.
