Lauded Sci-fi Author Richard Matheson dies at 87

While I delusionally hope to play all the games I have, I know there's no way I'll get through all my books lol. It seems like there is a site similar to backloggery but for books. Can't remember what it is though. But you should definitely pick up a copy of I Am Legend. It's pretty short, for a novel, and wouldn't add much to your burden Tongue Out

I didn't even know he had written for Star Trek before I did some research this morning. I'm gonna try to watch that episode somehow. And as for the books, just keep an eye out for I Am Legend. It's a pretty short novel and usually comes with some short stories to fill out the physical book. Shouldn't take you long to read.

I wouldn't say he created zombies. Those have roots back in voodooism at the very least, but I guess you could say he took them out of the supernatural and into real life and paved the way for them to become popular. I haven't seen any of the old adaptions of I Am Legend but I'd like to. I have seen the original Planet of the Apes and liked that. Did you know Rod Serling is responsible for the twist ending? Now there was another great storyteller Smile

I've heard that the ending of the original story is different than the Twilight Zone one and Matheson was not happy about the change. It tried to make a statement about interpersonal relations and the gray area of how well we really know each other...but dang, that Twilight Zone ending is just so creepy. It's perfect.

Yes lol I suppose I don't get in much. But if I can just remember...when I get home...I'll definitely check out some of his other songs *fingers crossed*

The reason I know of Brentalfloss is because he submitted a really funny song to OCRemix. Maybe I'll highlight that one this week on my blog Smile I haven't seen much of his other stuff, though I mean to (I guess I don't get out much lol). Didn't he turn Chrono Trigger into an opera or something?

E3 2013: The Future of Final Fantasy

I'm one of those people that hasn't played FFX yet, so I'm excited to give it a go in glorious HD. I haven't played any of the FFXIII games yet either and I'll probably skip Lightning Returns because I'm hoping they'll put out a trilogy box at some point. I would like to play them. As for FFXIV I just can't bring myself to pay for the same game every month (the only MMO I've ever been able to really get into is Guild Wars 2, so there you go lol), so I'll be skipping that I guess, though I do like that it's coming to PS3. And FFXV? Man, that game is still probably so far out from release that I have a hard time caring much. Show me progress in a year, Nomura, and then we'll talk.

Do you know if it will require a subscription to play? That's what I'm assuming. Right now I just can't bring myself pay for a game every month. That's probably why Guild Wars 2 is the only MMO I've ever put any serious time into Undecided

Brentalfloss is the only one of these guys I'm familiar with and that only a little bit. But sounds like you knew what was going on and had a good time. Awesome. I'd like to go to a convention sometime, though I'd probably find it a tad overwhelming. But if we can work out the logistics (and save up the money), my wife and I are hoping to go to PAX East one of these years.

Episode 5: The Class of 1998

I like the variety you've brought to the episode themes, Julian. This was another good one. Kind of sad to look at that list and realize how few of those games I've actually played (Ocarina of Time and the MGS remake, Twin Snakes...if that counts lol). As for suggestions, I think it'd be neat to do an episode that compared songs from series' first games with songs from more recent entries. Mario and Zelda are easy choices but there are plenty of others. Castlevania, Sonic, Final Fantasy, to name a few. Heck, Metal Gear Solid is 15 years old at this point. Lots of possibilities.
