I loved watching The Seventh Voyage if Sinbad as a kid. It was amazing how he brought those fantastical creatures to life. Really fired my imagination up whenever I saw it!

I think we agree more than you think. My point was that even though Uncharted borrows everything from other properties—the Indiana Jones-like story, the Prince of Persia and Gears of War gameplay, etc.—it doesn't feel like a knockoff. Lords of Shadow doesn't seem to have anything to really unify its world. It doesn't feel like Castlevania, certainly. And I wish they had stuck with the shallow main character typical in the series because their attempts at developing him only emphasize how flat he is. The lack of logical flow at the end of the story, for me, is the last nail in the coffin (haha). Normally I wouldn't get worked up because a game fails to live up to my expectations but I just love Castlevania so much.
And don't worry, I didn't take your tone the wrong way. Thanks for commenting. I like getting a little discussion up about these things
Those are very important and very tough questions that will determine whether the game feels like a rip off of or an homage to those classic games. And there aren't any easy answers
That, sir, was epic lol. And I won't hold it against you that you didn't share your Pringles with me. As for youtube, I don't watch anybody, ostensibly because I don't have time but I'm intrigued by some of these personalities you've mentioned. I might have to check them out...if I have time lol
Maybe since you're playing them so close together it feels like a continuation instead of a rehash...? Either way, glad you're enjoying it so much. That's what playing games is all about
That would be pretty awesome (nice screenshots btw). SSB Retro would be a great downloadable title to drum up excitement for the release of the next proper series installment.
As for the future of the series, I think it'd be great if they included plenty of non-Nintendo characters, though I do think they would have had to appear on a Nintendo console at some point (sorry, Master Chief). I'd like to see Saki from Sin and Punishment as a playable character instead of just an assist trophy, and putting in Bayonetta would be a great way to promote her new game coming to the Wii U.
Well dang it, man, now you've got me intrigued! My PSP "games to buy" list doesn't need more entries lol.
That's interesting because most people seem to say it's good but gives off a definite "been there, done that" kind of feeling. That's the main reason I haven't gotten around to playing it yet. Everybody seems like the Minerva's Den DLC, though.
Picking just one song from these games would be so tough, especially from VI. I suppose it would be a cop out to pick the ending theme lol. Man, I'll never tire of Melodies of Life though.
Nice selection of songs. I especially like those two from the PS remakes of FF I and II since I hadn't heard those versions before. Cool beans.
