Bloodstained

Posted on 06/12/2015 at 08:13 AM | Filed Under Blogs

I just backed Bloodstained.  I was going back and forth a fair bit on whether I wanted to or not.  I just want to guarantee that I will be able to get a physical copy of the Vita version.  I know that they say that they will release the games in stores after the Kickstarter, but I don't feel confident that the Vita version would actually make it there.

Nintendo games I'd love to see on the New 3DS

I wouldn't say no to having either of the Gamecube Zelda games on the Super 3DS.  The 3DS is already a Zelda machine with the two NES games, 3 gameboy games and 2 N64 games.  Why not go all the way and add every other one while they are at it?

This game looks amazing.  I wish they hadn't gone off and done those wierd spinoffs.

Characters I still want to see in Smash 3DS/ Wii U

I completely agree about Snake.  He was my go to character in Brawl.  I am not the biggest fan of slow character, but he was one that I could actually handle.

Clones of Great Games That Need To Be Made

I have a copy of Axiom Verge, but I would prefer to play it on my indiestation(Vita).  So i have been holding off.

I have been playing Jak and Daxter again on the Vita, which is not the best place to play it, but it still holds up very well.  I am shocked at how well the game plays 14 years out.

Jak and Daxter, the first one.

I am always looking forward to a clone to any Metroid game, not just Prime.  The only issue is that I am usually disappointed.  What makes Metroid great is the mixture of gameplay, atmosphere, minimal storytelling... there are more, I know it.  Point, most of the homages focus on one or two of the many things that make a Metroid game and forget about the rest.  Leaving you with an imperfect clone.

I have tried and failed numerous times to get into the original games.  I have had significantly less trouble with the Bethesda ones, but they are an acquired taste, so don't feel bad about being left behind.  There are plenty of other amazing games out there.

I know exactly what you mean about open world games.  I take amazing gameplay over a massive world any day.  The Witcher 2 just left a big impression on me.  I really hope they didn't mess around with the alchemy tree too much.  Those were the best perks in 2.

I just hope that Bethesda took a few cues from Obsidian.  3 was good, but something felt like it was missing.  I didn't notice it until I played New Vegas, maybe it's the dark sense of humor.

I really liked it.  Nothing too special, but it did exactly what the initial Star Wars VII teaser did, get me excited.
