Super is kind of the middle of the road for me. I like its exploration and nonlinearity, but feel Prime does that better while I had more fun with Zero Mission's abilities and powers. Why those two are my favorites in the series.

I really loved this game. Definitely one of my favorite PS2 games and exactly what I wanted from the series.
Actually I'm happier with my Wii U than 3DS. More of a quality of over quantity thing
3DS has some great games but has been kind of disappointing to me. Just seems in short supply of fresh and creative games that the original DS had. I still enjoy the system, just don't see the library matching the original DS'. Plus the system looks kind of barren outside Codename STEAM and Xenoblade this year. Hope that changes at E3
I'm pretty done with military shooters. CoD 4 and Spec Ops The Line gave me everything I wanted from them in completely opposite was. Sandbox games I like, but they need to be goofy. Dicking around in the sandbox isn't fun if everything's serious. Sports, driving, and fighting games don't hold my attention long either with a few exception. But SRPGs are what really bore me. Except Pokemon Conquest
I died quite a lot so challenge wasn't that big an issue for me. I'll agree that the mechanics aren't that deep but the pacing and variety are very well done in 2, which is why it works for me when 1 and 3 don't. Granted you're absolutely right on the enemy variety, but the level design was varied enough to more than make up for this. The game knew how to make you approach combat differently by things as simple as where you entered an area or where it placed cover.
Also that tank bit was my favorite part too, so glad to see you praise that too when everyone else goes on about the train bit instead. I love the train, but the tank was just better.
I know all about that, trust me. I'm just saying, you can only go so far until it becomes lazy. And UC3 was lazy.
Definitely give 2 another go. Where 3 stumbles, 2 excels.
You should start up 2. It's a lot of fun.
All of them are on Vita FYI. I'd say the 4 port is much weaker on Vita though, longer loading and no cel shading.
