Holy crap! This has to be PStC’s most random episode yet! We start off with some talk on Tomb Raider, Red Dead Assassins (or Assassins Creed 4), and Monday Night Combat – Segue into some Ninja Turtles talk – get serious with some talk on games in/as education – and then finish it off with some weird Sims social experimentation.

You may have heard the news that F-Zero AX was discovered inside F-Zero GX. That news inspired a brief bit of talk about other places where things were hidden pretty deep inside a few games from the past, mostly on the N64. Naturally, SimCity took up a lot of time, too, and Issue 118 closes with some of Julian's Final Fantasy piece. I'm gonna keep this brief because frankly, I'm not feeling so great. We finished Darksiders. We had more fun talking about it than we did with the back half of the game. We get into some pretty weird things to talk about like sound effects and... horse physics. Maybe my fever started earlier than I thought.

EA has made quite a few headlines this past week, but none of them are all that positive.
That's right, EA gets a lot of attention in this week's PB & Jason. Why? Well, for starters, SimCity has always-on DRM that's preventing a lot of people from playing the game. Beyond that, rumors of an unsuccessful Dead Space 3 & the cancellation of a Dead Space 4 has drawn ire, whether these rumors are true or not! They boys are back this week, and they mean business. Jesse ruffles some feathers early by declaring Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch overhyped (but still good), before professing his undying love for all things Fire Emblem. Then things get a bit ugly, as the boys prognosticate on the future of gaming, which may lead to some small amount of rage and depression.

The key phrase at the PlayStation 4 announcement event was "...in real time." A point this PB & Jason tries to make is that real-time, scripted footage produces visuals that are often of higher quality than actual gameplay footage, and unfortunately, developers and publishers take advantage of that fact. Regardless, this week's PB & Jason covers last week's Nintendo Direct in brief, and then tackles the announcements of the PlayStation2013 event. Impressions of the reveals are mixed: Most of the actual features included in the PS4, like trying games instantly and streaming your game feed from the console, sound very interesting.
