Backlog of games

So I have come to the conclusion I have way to many games....there's like over 500 games (including digital/pc) in my library.

I have only beaten maybe about 40 games or so maybe more along the lines of 20-30.

I've been making an effort to get through a good portion of them - I figured going by series may be easiest....and mix it up because I notice I tend to get a lil ADD if I keep playing the same game sometimes for awhile.

I will actually find out how many games my finace and I have combined when we move because I am a sickler for making a list of the games I have - just to keep track of them a little bit easier and for what games I end up selling because I sometimes forget I sold the game.

But man I feel sometimes how am I going to get through all these games - plus the games I eventually want to buy lol

How do you get through your back log?

I try to pretend it doesn't exist.  Tongue Out That way I can buy new games and not worry about it!  Laughing

My backloggery.com page reminds me every day I have too many games. I was just thinking today how I should knock it all down to two CD cases (about 15 discs each) and trade in everything else. I just can't do it though. I'm still too attached to it all. I mean, what if I want to play Wizardry on NES or Skies of Arcadia on Dreamcast or Valkyria Chronicles on PS3. If I get rid of those, it'll be hard to get them back unless I go all PC gaming. Almost anything can be played on PC one way or another. . . hum. . . still thinking.

it will be a cold day in hell when they release Skies of Arcadia on PC though.  I bought it for Gamecube last year, and haven't really played it, but I'm glad I have it.

Yea, and I want that Gamecube version with it's improvements. i had several chances to buy it when it was at Gamestop years ago, but it was always a little higher price than other things I wanted. Shouldn't snatched it when it was about $25 though.

That's the same for me, I usually keep the games and then after I complete them (if i ever do) I decide if it is worth keeping them becasue sometimes that helps me determine if I wanna sell it or not. Usually though I don't sell them.

I could do with less games. I don't have space for a real library like I'd want. Right now I'm trading anything I've completed all the achievements/trophies for. That's not too many so far.

I take it one at a time and don't worry about games I don't like.

Yeah - Ive been doing about 4 different series at once just to help keep my gamer ADD in check and don't get too bored with one game.

The ones I don't like I usually put them in a special spot to either sell or just never play again.

Like KnightDriver mentioned, I use backloggery.com and it's mindboggling how many games I have, especially because of PS+ games each month and Humble Bundles adding a bunch at once. I only really worry about the physical games I own, though, and try to give them priority. But I'd never keep track of them all without backloggery.

I use that and howlongtobeat.com because it's nice to see how long it took and if I ever go back to it would I be able to complete it faster. I just don't have all the games logged in yet I've been just placing the games in as I complete them so far.

I need to rummage through all my consoles and finances lol see what we have total as I'm sure there's other games lurking about that I have no idea we had haha

Just 500?  That's not bad.  I own over twice that, though I've finished more than you have.  I try to take one game at a time.  I play it until I finish it or get tired of it.  My biggest problem trying to get through all my games is playing a game I like over and over again.  I spent months playing through the Mass Effect games.

That's only my steam library....I have probably close to 1000 I just forget how many physical and other digital games I have as well.

I have the same issue too. I'll keep playing games that I love over and over again because they are amazing and forget the others lol.

I have something of a similar issue, which is wy i'm considering getting a backloggery account so it encourages me to complete games.

Im putting all my games on there after I get my new list of the games I own while packing. I started already making my Steam list, so I'll be able to put one list up there soon!

I consider my backlog my treasure hoard. I will never run out of games to play. It's especially good when I just don't have the finances to buy new games, like right now. As for picking a game, it's usually pretty random. Right now, I'm confined to my 360, PS3, and my handhelds until the old heating system gets removed and I can set up my older systems and CRT TV in its place.
