My # 1 was OGRE BATTLE 64

Nintendo/Atlus/Quest - N64

For obvious reasons my number one pick is Ogre Battle the battle system was a little faster and more colorful then Tactics Ogre but TO is still my all time fav.

My # 2 is  CASTLEVANIA 2: SIMON'S QUEST

Konami - NES

The best Castlevania I played bar none this one added rpg elements to an action scroller and did an awesome job.

 My # 3 was EARTHBOUND

Nintendo/APE/Hal Laboratory - SNES

Earthbound was one cool game and for the time it came out nothing had ever been produced or even close.

 My # 4 Nintendo - NES

Legend of Zelda

What can be said about this game that hasn't already been said? Nine huge dungeons, a non-linear world to explore, lots of enemies to fight, items to find, and puzzles to solve, Zelda pretty much had it all! Zelda even has a harder second quest, although I have to admit that I greatly prefer the first quest.

My # 5 SUPER MARIO BROS. 3

Nintendo - NES

This is the game that started it all and probably one of the best games ever made.

My # 6 SUPER METROID

Nintendo - SNES

I spent so much time exploring this beast of a game and it was awesome .

My # 7 THE LEGEND OF THE MYSTICAL NINJA

Konami - SNES

Yes I know a strange pick but I was absolutely addicted to this game and it was a very interesting rpg.

My # 8 DRAGON WARRIOR 4

Enix - NES

This was an epic rpg for me and I still think about it to this day anyone say metal slimes lol!!

My # 9 ILLUSION OF GAIA

Nintendo/Enix/Quintet - SNES

I spent so much time with this game I had to add it lol!!

My # 10 SUPER GHOULS N GHOSTS

Capcom - SNES The most frustrating game I ever played but boy did I love it.

So there you go my top 10 and I love all of them equally so theres really none better then the other and I didnt include all the ones I wanted but these games I beat and spent alot of time with and probably my most fonded games of all time for me.

Castlevania 2 is the best castlevania? I haven't played it, but it's the one everyone says is the worst. What do you like so much about it? Mine's a toss up betwee 4 and symphony of the night.

I can't say it is the best myself but I always loved Simon's Quest.  It was the first Castlevania I played though.  I was surprised when I read all the hate it gets.  After thinking about it, I get why a lot of people don't like it.  I can't shake the first impression it left on me though.  Being the first dark/scary sort of themed game I ever played always made it a winner.

Castlevania 2 Simons Quest was the first to have a rpg element about it and the puzzles were crazy I love the apnosphere of it the best way I can explain it is after playing Zelda then I played link, link was my favorite one for the same reason if that makes any sense lol!!

hey this is a great list!  I loved Simon's Quest too!  Never got too far in it, but I played it endlessly!  What a horrible night for a curse!

I've never played Ogre Battle.  I really want to though, I love that series.

Simons quest was excellent there was this one part where you had to get this gem and walk to a dead end and crouch and hold for like a minute it took Nintendo power to help me figure that part out but this one and link were fantadtic

Nice list.  I played most of those games.  I would really like to play The Legend of the Mystical Ninja (SNES) again.  That game is a lot of fun.  I noticed you only have games that released on Nintendo consoles.  Did you only own Nintendo consoles?

Can't wait to see that Atari list.  There are only a few Atari games I find memorable in the positive sense.  I'm save them for your Atari list blog. Cool

Nice list! I can't say that Ogre Battle 64 was a surprise though lol. I still need to play Tactics Ogre on PSP. I've been putting it off because I know it's gonna take forever to get through. I'm with you on Link. I love that game. Even more so than the original Zelda.

There are so many retro games I love that I can't pick just ten.  I hate it that I missed out on Illusion of Gaia, though.

Oh I do love me a list of favorite Classic Plastic. There are a couple of games on your list I haven't tried, but seem interesting. My favorite when it comes to some of these older games is how they can trigger memories of spots where you got frustrated, excitement of completing it, playing at a friend's house, etc. Good stuff!

Since you've always liked strategy and RPGs more than I do, I was surprised by how many games on your list I've enjoyed or wanted to play. Mystical Ninja looks like a lot of fun.

Definitly agree with SMB 3. After replaying the game, I started to apriciate the game more for how its designed and the gameplay. A masterpiece to simply put it.

I really want to go back and play some of the older Zelda titles,  maybe over the break I can download some off of the wii virtual console shop.
