How are we nearly threw a whole week of August already??
Into the Breach is really cool but it can be so demoralizing to get nearly to the end and then lose and...that's it. Gotta start over.
Also...hippos!

I just listened to a podcast about Star Control 2 and am thinking about downloading Ur-Quan Masters again. I'm surprised Toys for Bob has survived all these years but it's a shame they have been shuffled around to mostly small or licensed projects. They're really talented.
I really want to play Live A Live but I have a feeling that's going to be a birthday money game at the end of the year.
I played the first Lost Kingdoms game back in the day (rented from Blockbuster!) and really enjoyed it. Always wanted to play the second one but have never gotten around to it. Really cool game.
I've heard of that Car Wars game. Sounds pretty cool! I heard somebody talking recently about Car Battler Joe on...Game Boy Advance?...which is another weird little car battle RPG. Seems like an underserved subgenre.
I was so intrigued by Torment: Tides of Numenera that I bought it when it first came out and enjoyed those first few hours. It was a terribly busy time of life for me, though, and it fell by the wayside. I have yet to go back to it and I really should.
Gosh, I don't have time to play all the content in Smash Bros, let alones clones too! I had heard of more of these than I expected but still, this is a surprisingly robust subgenre.
Stage Select:
I love when Nintendo throws in little cameos between its own game series. Mario, of course, made a ton of appearances in early NES games. He did some prosaic things like golfing and reffing for tennis and Punch-Out!! but he also piloted the paddle in Alleyway for the Game Boy and you can unlock a Mario statue in the SNES version of Sim City.
I'm playing Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate with some friends and the cat helper of one of my friends has armor that looks just like classic Mega Man, which is pretty cool.
Cage Match:
I think Syphon Filter wins by forfeit because Driver 2 can't get out of parking garage. (Maybe that was Driver 1 that had that ridiculous tutorial but that's what I associate that franchise with.)
Congrats on ten years! Wow, that is no small milestone for a podcast and I think the show is the best it has ever been. I was delighted to find this surprise episode in my feed. Always glad to hear from Rob again.
If Shadowrun Trilogy gets a physical release somewhere, I'm in trouble
I didn't know those Dark Alliance games got rereleased. That's pretty cool. Always wanted to play those.
