I don't really have much time for reading so it's a good thing my favorite video games don't have novels. Can you imagine a Kirby or Pac-Man novel?
Read Halo: Smoke and Shadow

Stumbled across another Halo book, started reading, and then realized I'd read it before, but I continued on and finished it, enjoying it quite a bit, so much so, that I looked for a continuation of the story and found it in Halo: Renegades (reading now) and Halo: Last Light, all written by Kelly Gay.
The central character is Rion Forge, a salvager who, in addition to salalvaging wrecks from the human/Covenant war, is also looking for her father, a soldier lost in the war while serving on an important UNSC ship, The Spirit of Fire.
You get to know her colorful crew, her rough and tumble life, how she came to command a salvage ship, and thrill to the action as they encounter exCovenant fanatics and ONI, the UNSC's secret forces whom often use Spartans. Both exCovey and ONI are interested in what the salvagers find, especially Forerunner artifacts. Rion, however, is obsessed with finding out what happened to her father in the Covenant war.
I'm back in the saddle again enjoying stories in the Halo universe. Even season 5 of the game Halo Infinite is adding Firefight mode back in, to my eternal joy, soon. It must be Halo-ween this year.
