Mixed Reviews: Final Fantasy XII

Posted on 03/10/2013 at 04:53 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I have the metal game case special edition of FF12 and really loved it. I remember playing the demo of it when it was included with the release of Dragon Quest 8 and I was instantly made a fan. I just really enjoy the open world and game play. Not all FF need to be clones of each other. The truth is that they are all different.  I doubt FF fans can agree on a definitive answer to which one is the better game. FF8 comes to mind. I liked FF8. This game needs a remake for Vita. I will never put my Vita down.Tongue Out

I was wondering if you ever tried Jeanne d'Arc or Popolocrois on PSP? Those look like good games. I may try them out.

I still want to try that Anime WWII strategy game. It looks weird.

Damsel in Distress: Part 1 - Tropes vs Women in Video Games

It seems like the videos were not made with a consensus of any sort. It's totally one sided and worse, comments shut down so there is no discussion whatsoever. A vacuumous echo chamber if I ever saw one. And I though she made some good points too. A shame.

Tomb Raider Impressions

But are there any tombs in this game? The one major thing pulling me away from a purchase is the lack of tomb raiding. Every reviewers mentions gun play and action, but what of the classic gigantic temple puzzles of awesomeness? Cry

What's it like to live in the Bible Belt?

I'm not from the bible belt but I would imagine that there are pockets of people who are atheist or non-christian in areas stuck in places like that and I kind of feel sorry for them.

I have to admit that as a TR fan of old games I was sort of luke-warm about purchasing this game, but your review makes me reconsider, along with other reviews and impressions. TR wouldn't exist without Indiana Jones really. If you ever get a chance to play earlier games, you will see a resemblance to Indie. I think at one point in a game she finds his hat or something in a temple as a joke.

Your review of the game reminds me of the new show Arrow. The main character Olliver Queen is shiprecked on an island and over the whole season has been flashing back to the torture he indured and gruesome training he went through to survive and ultimately become Green Arrow.

I'm glad TR is cool again. I sort of feel like TR was a sort of Mario game that got me back into gaming when she first appeared. I get a similar vibe from your impression. Cool

You should do that. I think the HD collection of TR is the definitive edition. I even think the swimming parts were fun. Big puzzles and giant temples. It's good. And cheap I think.

Shutting down comments sort of hurts her argument a bit. You can't dish out criticism without defending your position or at least expecting to be criticised in return. Although in her defense, people have been sort of abusive in the past to her regarding comments, website attacks and account hacking.
