FFXIII has so much moments of greatness, yet SO many moments of dread haha

I believe there is a fair amount of consumer bandwagoning when it comes to forming opinions about such things. Because of the internet, all it takes is a less than favorable article from your favorite gaming site for you to form a subconcious distaste for the subject in question. I think the various gaming news outlets are guilty of this as well. For instance, if you read a critical article about the Wii U on IGN, then hop on over to Destructoid, you're likely to see more of the same. And if you seek out that information on even more sites, you'll realize you've been reading the same thing over and over again. Like you said, "those with the loudest and most frequent typing voice will be heard above all others", seemingly getting people to fall in line with whatever they say. 

I had no idea about any of this, but I'm glad you seem to be in a happier space. As a introvert/extrovert hybrid myself, I know how much your mind can function as a detriment while still being a safe haven. That's part of the reason I started blogging. I needed to get out of my head for once. Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting to know you better and reading your stuff :)

Chipping away at backlogs takes forever haha

I'm rather excited about the PS4 as well. It doesn't really bother me that there's not a whole bunch of new technology because it's obvious that that's not really Sony's focus. Their concentration is more on immediacy and ease of use through sharing. The only thing I find mildly disappointing is the fact that there's no backwards compatability. I understand that could turn into a non issue what with the streaming service and all, but I prefer physical copies as opposed to digital.

I agree with the skepticism of mobile and tablet gaming. Mostly fueled by my own bad decision making. I bought Chrono Trigger on iOS and it was completely broken. I managed to get my money back, but others were not so lucky, and took to writing scathing reviews of it. I also recently bought Theatrhythm Final Fantasy for iOS and while it was satisfactory, it didn't have all of the features of the 3DS port which was a bit of a letdown. And when I see games on iOS getting terrible reviews, or being cited as money guzzling ripoffs (FF : All The Bravest), that doesn't really entice me to go try out more of the same. So I'm still undecided in that area.

I forgot how much I love Kingdom Hearts until just recently. I was replaying the first, and completely fell back in love with it. I'm telling you...it works magic on people.

Anything's better than 8 lol. I feel that. 13-2 was wayyy easier than 13. And the thing about the story is...nothing actually happens. Everything is explained away by a "time paradox" and if you pay close attention you'll come to the realization that throughout the entirety of 13-2, absolutely NOTHING was resolved. So by the end, you're basically back to square one, which prompts me to wonder why Square Enix didn't leave well enough alone. Final Fantasy 13 had a decent, happy (for the most part) ending. After 13-2, the characters are now wayyy worse off than they were before. It's kind of strange really. Although I'm a little skeptical at this point, there's a hopeful part of me that thinks Lightning Returns is gonna be magic.

This may come as....a bit of a surprise. But....I like XIII-2. It's actually one of my favorites now. I totally understand why people don't like it, but it just did it for me. I think it was the gameplay. For the first time ever I was willing to overlook the flaws in the story because I just had so much fun actually playing the game. Once again, because of the internet I already knew about the much abhorred "To Be Continued" screen, and I will admit that was quite irritating. What's even worse is we won't get a direct sequel to actually see what happened, but rather this "Lightning Returns" crap that no one asked for. We'll see how THAT turns out.
