I actually really enjoy Uncharted 4 more than the other previous games because of the rope swinging alone. It doesn't seem like much, but it really is fun trying to figure out how to get across canyons or cliffsides with the rope swings. There is also a bit more stealth, like hiding in tall grass to silently take out enemies and you can target enemies for your AI partner to take them out for you in some places. The gun fights are still repetative and simple, but yeah, the swinging around is worth whatever the sale price is nowadays.

metro exodus is an amazing end!

it's always on sale. I'd recommend for 15 if you are iffy about it. The first two games are always on sale for like 8. I'd recommend the remastered versions of the first two. They're pretty lengthy, slow burn, stealth survival games. If you like dark atmospheric games.

Fair enough. Do you think that Horizon sequel and maybe the brutality of the newer tomb raider games were influenced by TLOU? I sort of feel like TLOU is still influencing games in the future. I haven't played Horizon 1 yet, but just going off the trailers.

I think after the last Uncharted, the games started feeling very repetative and I drifted away from story focused games, but lately I've been playing more open world games and I'd like something more linear.

A lot of games copied TLOU story and gameplay just to show how influential it was. I can think of a few just off the top of my head like Evil Within 2, Metro Exodus, God of War, Days Gone, Witcher 3 (a dad game but not sure if inspired by TLOU) basically daddy simulators in post-apocalypse. Reminds me of all the Dark Souls clones. I will probably hold off on TLOU2 until a sale later in the year. I still have Dying Light and Uncharted 4 to finish.

awesome list. I listen to half of these already. Is the UK retro podcast about old games that just came out in UK? I know there were certain game systems that only came out in UK.

I think you might like 'watch out for fireballs' podcast. They play through a whole game, then discuss like a book club. Very good selection of games. They just did Celeste.

I listened to your new podcast and its very good. I still would like a podcast focused on your gaming tastes, indie and horror type games, but thats just me.
