The sound. I was creeped out by the voices. The sound design is really great. I'll eventually move on to the sequel.
I didn't know you were from Australia? Derp. Not that it matters. Are you working on any new reviews?
Corpse Party and Crimson Shroud are featured on the front page here. I'm home! :-)
I felt like I was reading my own post back to myself. I gushed about Dragon's Dogma on 1up this month. I think I'm nearing the end game, but I've been distracted lately. I actually tried running everywhere. If you keep a light weight character, your stamina will last longer. If you keep empty bottles on your pawns, they will refill them when they find oil in certain dungeons.
The game is just very atmospheric. The rustling trees, the landscapes, the wildlife. I just like being in the world. After playing it for so many hours, I've become familiar with the geography and I just take off running. I think it's my favorite game of 2012, even though I'm playing it in 2013. Keep blogging about it.
Thanks for holding out your umbrella for us during a downpour!
This is a shame. I'm playing through Corpse Party 1 and enjoying it, with headphones on! This is another bad review for what otherwise would have been a great new niche franchise of horror rpg. Oh well! I will relish the time I spend with CP1.
Thank you for the write up. I really enjoyed the game. Most of the games on eShop don't stand out that much, but this game really shines, for me anyway. I have dabbled in table top gaming, so I was familiar with dice rolls and such. I loved the fact that it was short! I just don't have as much time as I used to for playing lenghthy games. I want more shorter games. I agree with the random key item drops. This game is a bit odd if you're not used to "real" old school gaming. I didn't mind the lengthy text either. That's how some roleplaying games are sometimes. It's good! I would recommend.
