If gaming ever really does go all-digital ... gonna be a lot of magic lost without the opening the gaming gifts part.

Video games have been some of my most vivid Christmas memories.

What's the best gaming gift you've ever gotten at Christmas?

I got Super Mario Kart on SNES for Christmas when it came out and that ended up being one of my top five favorite games of all time.

I also got a Dreamcast for Christmas when I graduated college, so that was cool, too.

I sometimes wish I'd had a Dreamcast; so many people love it. Then again, I'd be disappointed with its short lifespan.

I got Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars for Wii one Xmas from my bro-in-law. It was a cool thought, but I never did play it. Kinda want to now, out of guilt. It's not the greatest, just the only one since my childhood.

Nintendo as a kid.  That was a magical Christmas.  Then about five years later, the Genesis.  That was magical too.

No console loyalty, I like it.

I never really got videogames for Christmas.  Except for that one year when my eldest brother got the younger siblings a PSOne.  I think it was the year the PS2 came out and his budy was getting rid of it.

I didn't address your main point of this blog.  Yeah, it is sad that in the future, kids won't get physical games (at least it looks that way now). For a little while at least they will still get gaming systems. It's fucked up how things change so quickly.  Each generation kind of has its own thing, and then next generation there's something totally different.

Hopefully,it's still magical for them, but I won't understand it. lol

I'm going to go with NFL GameDay 98 from my younger brother. He was in high school and had a tough job but he bought everyone Christmas gifts.
