dammit Cary you fooled me last year with this, and for about two seconds when I saw the headline you fooled me this time. But then I was like: Wait a second! It's April Fools!
Yer a tricky one, Cary Woodham!

Guess what, everybody? I’ve got some big news for you all! I’ve just been hired by Capcom to lead a new R&D game development studio here in the US! I’m calling it Bulldozer Entertainment and we’ll be creating and developing new game ideas using Capcom’s vast properties and licenses. Needless to say, I’ll be very busy and you probably won’t hear much from me here anymore. But before I go, I thought I’d share with you all some of the things I’ll be working on in the coming months.
Mega Man Powered Up 2 & 3
The first couple of games we’ll be working on are Mega Man licenses. Remember Mega Man Powered Up for PSP? It was a remake of the very first Mega Man game, redone with cutesy graphics and a robust level editing feature. The sequel is going to be a downloadable title for bigger home consoles like the PS3 and Wii U. It’ll be two games in one, as it’ll be a remake of Mega Man 2 and 3. This way, we can put a cute version of Rush the robodog in Mega Man 2 as well as 3. Yeah, I know that Rush wasn’t in the original Mega Man 2, but Proto Man wasn’t in the first Mega Man game, and they put him in Powered Up! Just as in the PSP game, you’ll be able to play as the bosses, so get ready to challenge stages as cute versions of Wood Man, Air Man, Snake Man, Magnet Man, and more! And of course, you’ll be able to make your own levels. It’ll be similar to how you can make things in LittleBigPlanet. When making levels, you’ll control Eddie/Fliptop as he dispenses whatever item you want to build with. Just like the PSP version, there will be DLC, like secret playable characters such as Roll, new outfits for her, level creation packs and more! But best of all, just like the DLC in the PSP game, all the downloadable content in Powered Up 2 & 3 will be free! Granted, this might make the cost of the main game go up a little, but I think most people won’t mind that.
The Misadventures of Tron Bonne 2
Only bad thing about working for Capcom is I won’t have much control over what they’re working on in Japan. Try as I might, I won’t be able to convince them to release Mega Man Legends 3. Same goes for Phoenix Wright 5 and Phoenix Wright vs. Prof. Layton. It’s up to Capcom to decide that. But luckily, I’m going to be working on the next best thing: a sequel to the Legends spinoff game starring lovable antagonist Tron Bonne and her Servebots! In this sequel, Loath, Glyde, and the Birdbots have escaped jail, and secretly kidnapped the police chief. The new police chief they’ve replaced her with is corrupt and extra strict, which poses a problem for Tron and her pirating ways. So she teams up with police officer Denise from the first game to save the day. That means this sequel will be a two player co-op game, with one person playing as Tron and the other as Denise. Just as in the first game, there’ll be action stages, puzzle levels, and you’ll be able to monitor and train each of Tron’s 40 Servebots. Tron Bonne 2 will be for the bigger consoles this time, and won’t be a 3DS game like Mega Man Legends 3 was originally going to be.
Pocket Fighter 2
Capcom won’t let me touch their main Street Fighter properties, but they are letting me work on a side game. Remember Pocket Fighter? It was a cutesy fighting game featuring chibi versions of popular Capcom characters from Street Fighter, Darkstalkers, and more! Well we’re making a sequel! Not sure if it’ll be a downloadable title or what systems it’ll be on, but it’ll be a lot like the first game except with many more characters to play as! Get ready to fight with chibi-fied versions of Zack & Wiki, Tron Bonne, Mega Man, Jill Valentine, Cammy, and more! It’ll be like a Capcom Smash Bros. except it’ll be sprite based and play more like a fighter. But anyone will be able to get into it whether they’re good at fighters or not. That’s our goal.
Puzzle Fighter Ultimate
To go along with Pocket Fighter 2, we’re making a sequel to Puzzle Fighter as well. Except the first game was called Puzzle Fighter 2, so we really can’t call it Puzzle Fighter 3. So for now we’re tentatively calling it Puzzle Fighter Ultimate unless you can think of a better idea. It’ll be pretty much the same game (why mess with perfection?) except with more characters and drop patterns. Not only will there be a robust online mode with tournaments and rankings, but they’ll be extensive single player modes as well. Storylines for each character, puzzle modes where you have to clear out blocks with a limited number of pieces, a puzzle level editor, and more!
DuckTales: Seven Treasures of Duckankamen
If you’ve heard the recent news lately, Capcom’s getting back into Disney games! But Remastered isn’t the only thing they’re doing DuckTales related. Ever wonder what Warren Spector is going to do after being let go after Epic Mickey 2 bombed? Well he’s on board with us helping to make a new 3-D DuckTales game for the current gen consoles. It’s a two player game where one person controls Scrooge McDuck and the other player or CPU controls Launchpad McQuack. It’ll be kind of like Epic Mickey 2 except ten times better. Here’s how the game works. You know how in LEGO Batman 2, you could explore Gotham City in between missions? Well, that’s what you’ll do here except it’ll be Duckburg. You can take on mini-missions to stop the Beagle Boys from stealing money from your money bin or other crimes. Or visit Gyro Gearloose’s lab to buy upgrades to your cane and whatnot. Once Duckburg is temporarily safe from crime, you can visit one of seven exotic stages to explore and find a rare treasure that’ll help make Scrooge McDuck the richest duck in the world!
DuckTales 3
You know how Epic Mickey 2 had a sister game on the 3DS called Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion that was like a direct sequel to Castle of Illusion on the Genesis? Well we’re doing that with DuckTales, too. After DuckTales 2 on the NES, what if it carried over into a direct sequel on the SNES? That’s what we’re trying to do with DuckTales 3. Just a 2-D game with 16-bit style aesthetics. And you know how people fawn over the Moon Stage theme from the first game? Well, wait’ll you hear the Mars Stage song! After these Disney games, I’d like to do another classic, like Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers. But I think Capcom wants us to do something a little more modern, so we’re trying to work with TellTale to make a point and click adventure game based on Gravity Falls.
Resident Evil: Jill’s Sandwich Adventure
Capcom’s letting us work on a new RE spinoff game, too! This’ll be a mobile title starring Jill Valentine. In the game Jill wants to help out her friends Chris Redfield and Ada Wong by making them sandwiches to eat so they’ll have enough energy and be strong enough to beat up all the zombies. But Jill must want them to have LOTS of energy and be REALLY strong because the sandwiches she’s making for them are really big. In fact, the sandwiches are so big that Jill has to climb up ladders to reach them, and walk on the sandwich ingredients to send them down below to the plates! But Jill has to watch out, because zombie hot dogs and eggs are trying to get her! Luckily she can shoot pepper spray to stun them. Once Jill makes all the sandwiches, Chris and Ada will eat them, beat up all the zombies, and they’ll move onto the next level. And no, this is totally different from the game you’re thinking of.
Final Fight 4: Cammy & Chun-Li’s Cupcake Caper
The last game I’m working on is a sequel to Final Fight! It takes places after Street Fighter 4, and Cammy and Chun-Li decide to go into business together making cupcakes, since that’s a trendy thing to do now. Using the science they’ve learned from defeating M. Bison and Seth, they’ve made a new kind of Power Cupcake that’s really nutritious and good for you. But mean ol’ Poison and Roxy and the rest of the Mad Gear gang have stolen all their cupcakes, so Cammy and Chun-Li take it to the streets to beat up all the bad guys and get their cupcakes back! It’s a two-player co-op beat ‘em up game like the first one. Except every so often, you’ll have to go into warehouses and navigate a maze made up of crates and boxes. Scattered about are cupcakes for you to get. But watch out, because Juri, Juni, Juli, and, uh…Clyde are roving around the maze trying to get you! Luckily in each of the four corners of the warehouses are Power Cupcakes that Cammy and Chun-Li can eat to chase the baddies back to their hideout. It’s a totally original concept.
And that’s all I’m working on right now! With so much on my plate, you folks probably won’t be hearing much from me anymore! Plus, my personal life will be busy, too. I’m getting married to a circus strongwoman and we’ll be moving to a lake house in Lake Guntersville, Alabama. So we’ll see you all later!
APRIL FOOLS!
You may be wondering why I revealed my April Fools blog before I finished. Well, I wanted to FOOL you all, but not LIE to you all outright. I doubt you were fooled anyway. The way I write my April Fools blogs is that I start with a feasible premise, but by the end of the blog I get SO ridiculous that there’s no way anyone could believe it. So don’t worry, those last two games aren’t real at all.
This blog actually serves two purposes. It’s an April Fools blog, obviously. But over the past couple of years, Capcom has kind of lost touch with what I like about them so much. Many people have complained about it, too. Well, I don’t like to complain, but I started thinking about things that Capcom could do to make me happy. So I decided to turn it into an April Fools blog, too! I actually had this blog planned WAY before Capcom announced DuckTales Remastered last week, so I was like, “Hey, they stole my April Fools blog idea!” But I’m really happy they’re doing that. I wouldn’t mind if they stole more of my ideas!
Anyway, in the comments section, let me know if you were really fooled by my blog, and for how long. Also, let’s pretend I really was working for Capcom. What games would YOU like to see me make there? And go ahead and let me know if you think I’m insane or not for writing this in the first place! Later! --Cary
I admit, when I saw the title and first paragraph I had my doubts, and especially when you mentioned MM PU 2 & 3 cause I doubt Capcom would be working on those, but a couple other titles had me thinking "well, maybe," then I saw Jill's Sandwich Adventure and I was like nope, definitely a trick. Sure enough. lol
I saw the headline and thought, "Hey, that's cool!" Then I saw Mega Man Powered Up 2 & 3 and I became suspicious. It was downhill from there lol. Nice wish list of games though.
I've had similar feelings about Capcom ever since last year when their big release was a western-style RPG (Dragon's Dogma). I couldn't help but wonder what happened to the Capcom I knew and loved.
I thought this was real but then I remembered it was April 1st. I always like seeing what kind of pranks people will do, this one would of actually been true if it wasn't for today lol I had a ton of laughs at the Jill Sandwich thing, I could actually go for a Jill Sandwich, you know, a sandwich made by Jill. And I thought you'd marry Ulala, or don't you like her anymore :P Also, Samus and I are getting married.
