Yu was so close

No, that's not lolcatz speak, Texas Rangers pitcher Yu Darvish was so close to having a perfect game that my dad called me and woke me up to see ... that the Astros hit his ball with one out left in the bottom of the ninth. Oh well, still a perfect seven to zero, which I think means, or at least meant before, Papa John's pizza deals for Rangers fans.We took advantage of that A LOT in previous seasons (rule is/was, if Rangers win and have at least seven points, you get half off your order; I think Jerry Jones owning a few franchise stores in TX had something to do with it).

Well, Yu didn't pitch a perfect game, but rather than seeing the glass half full, I'm choosing to see half off pizza, at least if that's still in place.

Yu know you want it... I'll stop

I'm not really into baseball.  I like baseball movies though.  I like that Kevin Costner one where he pitches a perfect game.  And the Natural.

I used to find baseball boring, too, but the trick is to put a few stakes on the games, and that boredom between plays will turn to palpable tension.

Being a Red Sox fan in its release year, I really liked that movie Pitch Perfect. I watched it later and enjoyed seeing all the Boston places I'd gone to in 2006.

My dad likes The Natural, too.

I like pizza. I have several stories involving pizza. Mainly stories of me eating pizza. Have a good nite. =D

Every time I get to go to Grimaldi's, I consider it a life event. Smile

How dare Yu guys hit that ball! lol Score was high enough, the series would most likely still be 1-1, but just had to do that base hit. lol

Oh well. At least we have pitching this season; I hear there was only one score until the sixth inning, so Astros pitcher must have done pretty well, too.

My friend sent me a text around the 8th inning to go watch Yu (we don't say No Hitter/Perfect Game because of superstition) Not a Rangers fan but I always like to see someone go for a No Hitter/Perfect game. Sucks Yu didn't get it, but at least you got half off your pizza

Well, I think we do, anyway. lol If so, it'd be for today. Does suck he didn't get it though, literally one out away.

I like watching baseball more than football. Not a very popular thing to say in Oklahoma. I just find it more fun. That is a shame about Yu. That is something he would never have forgotten. Would have been pretty cool.

I think I generally like watching all sports equally; they each have their own charm, just have a preference for playing basketball and rugby, as I'm a pretty good shot, and the rugby is just cause there was so little equipment! Whether I was great or not, it felt great not to have all that gear to put on like I did the one year I played football.
