In the MIA March Madness thing on the front page. Not much else to say, as I played no games today, just ran and walked in the rain to give myself room for the pizza tonight in my calorie budget.

What I played yesterday:

Donkey Kong 64

Didn't turn out to be as fun as I thought; brightness all the way up helped, but wasn't enough to make it less confusing where I was or where to go. Gonna try again at some point though, maybe even just restart the game.

1080 Snowboarding

Never thought I'd love my experience with this and not like one with DK64, but here we are. I think in my adulthood, I've come to appreciate having what I used to think was a little too much (re: finnicky and sensitive) control over my character. Adds a layer of challenge and realism to the experience, so that while it's harder to do tricks, I think that's a good thing. Also, it looks stunningly good; graphics aged very well, especially for an early N64 game.

F-Zero GX

Apparently not a whole lot was able to be salvaged on my memory card, meaning I only have the first set of hovercrafts... that or I misread the text before I started it up, and just wasn't using the memory card when I played. Either way, still has an amazing sense of speed.

It's rare? I was not aware of that.

Not rare. Just high in demand, so in these parts, I haven't seen it very often lately.

What an awesome bout of games you've been playing! I liked DK64 but it always feel besides Banjo Kazooie and SM64, I need to dig that one out again. F-Zero games are always amazing, though the GBA version is just too drifty for me, as for 1080 I LOVE THAT GAME, I'm not even a big snowboard fan (though I'm sure if I could afford to do it in real life that attitude would change)

There's a GBA version of F-Zero? The things I'm learning about that series today ... lol. I never liked 1080 as a kid, but I think I appreciate it more now.

Yeah, I was fortunate to be able to download it on the 'ambassador' program (I was one of those schmucks who paid full price on release) but the 20 free downloads was nearly worth it. Typical Nintendo pulling it out of the bag last minute!

N64 had some good games. Sorry, I liked Legacy of Kain series lol.

I liked it too, but c'mon, it has sequels already. Also, I liked Darkness more. lol

I recently found Eternal Darkness and was ready to finally give it a good playthough, aaaaand my gamecube had decided to quit on my after a few minutes of playing. Tried a few things, cleaned the laser, blew it out. Just freezes after a few minutes. Gotta track another one down.

That sucks; my N64 has been a bit weird lately. Hope you find what you need!

I love Eternal Darkness. I'll still pull it out and give it a few hours to this day.
