A Series of Disappointments

Cocksucker mother fucker whore out your sister Rick Lego Marvel Superheroes won't let me get Platinum because of a glitch that have me 11/10 minikits in one level.

Day before, Power Rangers disappointed me a bit, which I know is silly but despite a low RT scores, Youtube critics i watch said it was a good time. And it was enjoyable and very character driven, but it felt a bit long, Goldar CGI looked like sihit, I wasnt a fan of the Megazord design or the frog-looking Mastodon and HAVE THE THEME SONG FOR THE WHOLE FIGHT WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU THAT THEME SONG IS THE ONLY REASON THE SHOW GOT SO POPULAR WHEN I WAS GROWING UP.

To be fair, the acting was surprisingly solid and the characters had a lot of heart to them. He'll, there's a campfire scene reminiscent of Last Airbender and they actually get kind of deep with the Rangers' home lives. The only weird thing I can say about the acting is Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa is playing the 90s tv character while everyone else ( especially cranky Bryan Cranston, who lent voices to the original show and plays zordon) is in a gritty but campy ( surprisingly it works and doesn't feel too mixed tonally) reboot.

Still, the surprising amount of time spent on genuinely likeable characters means there's little action and what's there is a letdown in my opinion. Not in a lot of other peoples, but as a fan of the original i'd say it's a solid rental and i feel a bit guilty about dragging my friends to a march 23 preview screening for my bday. Almost tonight the theater we went to closed cause i couldn't find ticket times but turns out AMC completed the buyout of Carmike in Nacogdoches on my birthday.

I haven't played ME Andromeda, but count it among the disappointments this week. I should have just left well enough alone and let Last week's Barcadia trip with family be the end of my anticipation for good birthday vibes, cause this week has been a big letdown and post Spring Break hangover.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have 60 projects, 26 papers to grade and some Photoshop lessons to plan. Great, the part of the semester that always goes the least smooth. Thank you PhotoShop for providing the widest knowledge gap between students every goddamn year and being one of the most difficult programs to teach adequately in roughly two weeks/5 hours technically.

Hallelujiah and holy shit, where's the Easter bunny with my fucking Tylenol?!

And thank you Lego programmers for stealing what should have been the joy of finally getting 100% in a game after months (44 hours total) and instead taking a giant shit on what could have just stayed a mildly frustrating week of mediocrity.

I really hope you're happy about the fact small children have been given the same experience. Fuck you.

Makes sense. So has my life.

I had to pull back on my achievement hunting a little bit because it makes me so frustrated when I can't find that one last thing.

Yeah, turns out the only glitch is i can't open the comic for that level. I got 100 after buying all vehicles.

Hot damn only two weeks for Photoshop? One of my graphics classes that was a program we were constantly learning on. Years later I'm still learning new techniques (Thanks YouTube!)

I didn't grow up with the Power Rangers so this flick is all new to me, and I'm viewing it as a popcorn flick.

I saw in another blog you got your item with Lego resolved. I was going to say there shouldn't be any problems because I got the Platinum thanks to a second controller for one of the gold bricks/trophy for using two big characters at the same time.

More two and a half, but I also need to discuss DSLR cameras (I let them use Program mode, but still). It's always hard to explain to students who expect to suddenly know enough to land a job that no, this class covers the BARE MINIMUM of what these programs can do.

I'm surprised you'd be interested in PR at all. It really doesn't seem to reach beyond its core fanbase of late 20s guys like me with nostalgia and kids watching the current iteration on TV. Transformers and TMNT definitely seem to have broader appeal, or maybe they've just been seen by more people because of the slightly longer timeframe?

I don't think you have to have two controllers for those trophies. I think as long as you set both characters the right way, you can be single player as long as you play as Green Lantern and the NPC is Green Arrow, etc.

For both Photoshop and DSLR's you have to play with them. I'm still learning a ton on both.

I'm not a PR fan, but that trailer made it look interesting. Also that fan made mini movie from a couple of years ago with James Van der Beek looked good. The Transformers and TMNT remakes are terrible. I grew up with Transformers and my brother collected TMNT and those flicks are bad (of course the first live action TMNT movie from I think the early 90s wasn't great either)

Oh ok, when I went for that trophy I found using the second controller was easy. Just have the second player jump in, step on the pad, unlock trophy, and then exit out of 2nd player.

Oh yeah. You have to constantly learn and then things change. So the industry goes.

I like the first TMNT flick. It had the dark n' gritty style the year I was born; well before modern trends. PR is the same way, but it makes less sense cause there is no "gritty parody of Daredevil" comic in that franchise. About PR: do you like Krispy Kreme? Cause everyone is thinking like half the budget came from them ... I do not like Krispy Kreme, yet preferred the way more obvious way (almost like a running joke) it's used in PR to the "we're going to put all this crap in the background with Superman colors and not address how distracting it is" advertising is used in MoS. But I'm in the minority there it seems.

Oh, you had to get them to do something? Yeah, two controllers would be easier for that. I just meant the ones where it's "set both characters as x and y" and they just need to both be on-screen for a few seconds.

Yeah I dig Krispy Kreme. Got hooked on them in college when my residents would bring me back a dozen when they went home to Orange County. They didn't really expand all the way into Southern California. My little town just got a Dunkin Donuts so that was all the rage for a bit, now they're just a regular donut spot.

Yeah it knocked out a trophy and unlocked a gold brick. There were these two giant pads separated by a wall so I would use player 1 to stand on one pad with the Hulk, and use another big character to walk around to the other side to step on the pad on the other side. This would unlock the gold brick and a trophy for using two big characters at the same time.

We have a Dunkin' Donuts in Nac. I was all excited for it until I ralized I don't drink overpriced coffee that often. We have a hole-in-the-wall donut shop on the other side of the university as well.

Ok, yeah. I mean you could probably do it with one controller eventually, but the way the AI likes to follow around, it would be a huge pain in the ass I bet.
