GameFly & Hulu Trial

I finally caved and got my free trial of GameFly games. In my queue are Mass Effect Andromeda, Yooka Laylee, and Persona 5, in that order. Both Andromeda and Persona 5 say "low availability" and Yooka Laylee releases on the 11th, so we'll see how this goes.

I wonder what's high availability and available for rent now I'd be interested in.

Oh, the free trial is from Double Toasted WHO EVERYONE NEEDS TO START WATCHING:

It came with a free trial of Hulu, which finally allowed me to try a free trial again. Usually, they say "you've already used that email and/or credit card" when I try to redeem offers THEY SENT ME via email, but I guess they're friendly enough with Gamefly that even though I signed into an old account to do it, the redeem code Gamefly sent me just netted me a good month of free $7.99 ads-heavy version of Hulu ...

Shoulda sent me the non-ads version, cause no way in hell I'll ever pay to watch the same ad over and over again. That's the thing: if Internet ads worked like TV ads, I'd easily go with that option, but since advertisers don't trust the Internet and it ends up being the same ads over and over it becomes a million times more obnoxious.

Also, I tried purchasing Creative Cloud at work, since, y'know, I GRADE PROJECTS THAT USE IT, and was told I am not allowed to make changes like that on my office computer, but there was not enough course fee money to pay for me to have the thing all my students ... just, why? Why is that the case? I thought I had the CS6 versions *checks* but even those ask me to update the trial.

Luckily, the charge is still pending on my Chase account and I got an email asking me to finalize my purchase, so hopefully it doesn't go through.

Anyway, how are you?

I'm excited about Gamefly because I think they've fixed the "availablity" issue I used to have with it. I used to always get stuff at the bottom of my list, the oldest stuff, and the most available, but lately I've gotten really new stuff even though I have older and more available titles on there. Now maybe it's because I've been an on and off again user for many years, but maybe they've just heard the complaints and made it so you always get something current. All I know is. . . I LIKE IT.

Hopefully I'll like it more than the slow ass Hulu.

Just cause i watched from the 90s nostalgia category doesn't mean i wanted to watch stimulating an aol 2.0 connection. Good God it's slow. I went back to watching Netflix and it's smooth as ever. What gives?

Hulu...isn't that the dance they do in Hawaii with the grass skirts? :)

I was talking with an IT guy from Raycom Media today as part of an event our department put on. He mentioned their Honolulu station a couple times and how he wouldn't want to pay to live there.

Hoolah, I believe it's spelled.

I can never just accept a good pun, Cary. NEVER.

(I secretly appreciated the pun. Lol)

Since I'm catching up reading the oldest blogs to the newest you might have already played a couple of those games so I'll leave those comments to the newer entries. Hulu is such a solid service except I couldn't justify paying for content that has the same ads. Now they offer the ad less service but I'd rather just stick to Netflix.

Shame about that program. I wonder if you could talk the IT guy into letting it slide and just explaining you already bought the service.

I actually might do that. I do have a good rapport with John.
