Better than sex, if you have ED! CryFoot in MouthUndecided

The slogan is a work in progress. Also, in an effort not to punch down, I will say I've had some ... uncomfortable discussions with doctors recently, and ...

SO ABZU! This was just Journey underwater. Music was again my favorite part, along with colorful/artful visuals. No real desire to go back to it after the hour or two it took to complete the game, but I am glad I experienced it.

Xeodrifter: Finally beat the last boss after figuring out how best to configure my gun. I had mostly wave/charge shots and then added some wobbly shots to make sure I hit the little bad guys that came out of his mouth. I will say, that's more strategy than I ever used on a Metroid boss, where I pretty much just make sure to get all the items and enter a war of attrition, especially when it comes to Ridley and Mother Brain.

I may go back to this one to get 100% on all items, but I don't see beating the game in an hour.

Tales from the Borderlands: Chapter 1: So I also just realized that I have the entire Season 2 of The Walking Dead via PS+, but I deleted that because Episode 1 didn't impress me. I'm enjoying the humor and characters much more in this TellTale entry, which feels like a space exploration version of Archer or similar shows. Since I haven't really played much of the other Borderlands games, I'm not familiar with the lore, but finishing episode 1 has made me want to play the main series (which I do own). I'll download an episode every now and then as I go, after I'm done grading.

Final Fantasy XV: I rented this from GameFly, and I think I like basically everything about it FF fans hate. I really dig that one of the members of my party takes pictures, I'm into the fantasy/modern mix look of the character designs, I'm actually enjoying the (admittedly repetitive) combat, and the road trip theme is cool, even if the NPCs remind me a bit TOO much of Sonic '06 ...

It says it's made for fans and newcomers alike when you boot it up; I can confirm that newcomers like myself who have wanted to play FF games for years but were too turned off by turn-based combat will probably enjoy this. Apparently, a lot of fans have as well.

I will say ... the marketing on this looks ... interesting for an FF title

Rayman Legends/Origins: I beat all the Origins levels in Rayman Legends, and so ... like, now what? I won Kung Foot by plugging in another controller and beating that controller (I kinda hate multiplayer trophies and think there should be a separate trophy list for single-player and multiplayer, personally; pet peeve), but there are a lot of trophies where I'm like "I'll probably never get this." Still, it's a fun enough game that I can try ... while maybe using a guide or two for hidden teensies I'm missing. Guess I can collect enough Lums via those daily/weekly challenges to unlock all the heroes ... after quite some time playing. Maybe? I deleted it for now I think, but it'll probably end up back on my PS4 at some point. Just trying to focus on games I haven't beaten/haven't played enough at the moment.

Wolfenstein: The New Order: So, I just put the difficulty on "Can I Play, Daddy?" and STILL got my ass whooped by a giant robot who refuses to turn around so I can shoot his weak point. I think FPS may just not be for me.

This is what happens when games go for free or $5 and a gamer has disposable income ... gonna hold back on purchasing anything for a while and just ride the GameFly wave.  Only issue there is I had a game returned immediately after my first one because I shipped from my parents' house, but shipping from the student center down here apparently takes forever ... we'll see.

But I kept the hulu subscription that came with my GameFly trial and I actually might upgrade to the no ads version as there actually is a lot of stuff I want to see.

I was SUPER DELIGHTED when I saw the last part of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood on there, both sub and dub! I've been wanting to watch the Part 5 missing from Netflix for forever, and now I can! I also want to watch all the Ghost in the Shell stuff on there after enjoying the 2017 remake and rewatching the original movie recently. Plus, Death Note  and Hellsing and ... I own Cowboy Bebop via PlayStation, but I bought the SD versions and MAYBE the hulu ones are HD? And I've really been enjoying the couple episodes I've seen of The Regular Show. Plus, as someone who likes to watch SNL but can't because of my TV, it's nice to have that digitally the next day. My only complaint is that hulu definitely takes WAY longer to buffer at times than I ever remember Netflix doing so ... still, I'm pleasantly surprised by hulu and GameFly's customer service is actually really quick and friendly ... just wish they'd scan my games sooner, so I could get a new one more than once a week if I wanted.

Probably one of my favorite anime themes; it helps that I love rain and the visuals complement the music really well.

It really sucks we don't get Hulu in Aus. Seems to be some good shit on it.

I dig metroidvanias, but something about Xeodrifter just rubbed me the wrong way. I just can't get into it. What I played there didn't seem to be much of an exploration focus, which is what I want from the genre. I ended up liking Environmental Station Alpha more, which is basically doing the same thing but it feels more like an atmospheric world than a series of connected levels.

Yeah, there's also a documentary about Bill Finger and Batman and some originals I'd like to watch like Handmaid's Tale and Man in High  ... But those may be a little TOO politically revelant right now and I already watch House of Cards ...

I thought Xeodrifter was just like any Metroid I've played, but split into four "levels." And though Metroids are one continuous map, to me that is a purely cosmetic difference.

I should play Abzu. I like underwater stuff.

I usually hate underwater stuff, but the controls are smooth  in that one.

Well, these were all either short ones or ones I was almost done with, but decided not to Patrick (NWP reference; I know you don't listen to podcasts, but they always joke how Patrick gets close to the end of a game but does not finish it).

If Borderlands is kind of like Archer in space, you might have sold me on the Borderlands TellTale game.

I thought about going back to Hulu but I don't watch enough network TV to justify it.

Can't say for sure, because I've only seen a couple Archer eps ... but I think Archer's voice actor is the villain ... or a similar voice actor. Gronk, maybe? Is that the same actor?

I don't really watch much network TV on there. Mostly, I stick to the originals and the animated stuff.

I keep Netflix for the originals, and the standup. Sometimes I'll have Archer, Sunny In Philadelphia, or any other funny show playing in the background.

I miss the turn-based combat in Final Fantasy XV, but I can understand why they want to appeal to a larger audience with games getting more expensive to make and all. But yeah, the game is still reallly good regardless. Plus, fans got like two decades worth of turn-based games.

Hope you enjoyed the last part of FMA Brotherhood as much as I did. Though I have my doubts if it's been years since you watched the other parts.

You can still make it turn-based by putting it in Wait mode, I think. Since I prefer action, I left it alone.

I thought it was ok. I preferred what happened to what happened in FMA, but I kind of knew what was coming near the end and the last couple episodes were really just dedicated to wrapping everything up. I definitely think Brotherhood is the better series overall, and I loved the "He Who Would Swallow God" part as well as Olivier Armstrong's inclusion.

Having said that, FMA still handled my favorite character, Maes Hughes, much better.
