Atomic Blonde

Has:

- great action

-awesome visual style

- super cool and well-used 80s hits soundtrack

- Charlize Theron and a hot French woman who apparently was the recent Mummy doing hot lady stuff

Lacks:

- a coherent and easily followed plot, at least for me

- unpredictability; despite the incoherence, I still somehow saw the double-spy stuff a mile away

I say see it in theaters, but maybe Wikipedia the plot first if you care about it. Otherwise, just enjoy one director of John Wick and the director of the next Deadpool movie throwing late 80s Berlin at your face.

I really like the neon visuals and music, but like I said ... Not exactly easy to follow. Lol

You make me sad I missed it, but I'm just not that thrilled with film right now. I'm not sure why, but I couldn't get myself to go.

To be honest, if you're not thrilled to  go it is provably better to rent anyway. Then maybe you can pause and figure out what the f is going on.

I was afraid of that, but I really wanted to go for the visual style.

I might have missed the window to watch this flick in the fancy theater but I will catch it on video. It sounds like the perfect popcorn flick.

It's out of theaters?! I thought it'd do better than THAT!

I checked and the fancy theater has one showing at 10pm. I'm now debating if I should go.

If you can stomach style over substance to a degree ( they tried for substance, but it seems to be universal consensus most didn't "get it"), then I say go for it.

If you're not a John Wick fan or get annoyed easily by not being entirely sure what's happening, then matinee or rent.

It's a REALLY good one stylistically though, if the fancy theater has a nice screen or something.

I liked John Wick, fun film. I decided against going to that showing so it looks like I might just have to rent.

I loved it, but I agree it is a little hard to follow. I watched a second time (after finishing reading Bridge of Spies), and I liked it even better. I've been doing a ton of reading on the Cold War, so this hit the spot for me. Also, the director said Lorraine is in the John Wick universe, so I'm crossing fingers for her to show up in John Wick 3 as an older, still badass killer, ala MGS 4.

I think I would like it more if I read The Coldest City to fill in some gaps.

I saw the trailer at Dunkirk and Baby Driver. Not really interested despite looking like it will have some good action.

Oh, it has GREAT action. I thought beginning to end, some are saying it was mostly the one-take looking stairwell shot at the end, but it's not lacking there.

Story and character motivation are what's difficult to figure out and therefore get into. For me, it's like Dunkirk in that respect, only I prefer this movie's visual style. And yes, I get that WWII is going to have a certain visual style, but I still like what I like.
