Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, Until Dawn

Three games I bought this year on my birthday and never got to. I am not sure i will ever finish horizon. It just hadn't grabbed me enough whenever I sit down to play.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune:

Digging the platforming and VERY light puzzle solving 4 chapters in. I don't like how tedious shooting is. Enemies reproduce like rabbits, they all take way too many bullets unless it's a headshot and why is my pistol so much more powerful than any shotgun?

Until Dawn:

I almost finished it with a rental a long time ago, but looks like I'll have to start a new game at some point.

Ratchet and Clank:

Really digging the platforming and action mix. I usually get annoyed by upgrade systems, and I probably still will be, but I like the weapon variety even so early on.

Otherwise, watching Bojack Horseman, playing Sonic Mania ( need two more chaos emeralds), and figured out you CAN in fact use 3 different save filles in before the storm, but you have to choose them from the settings menu.

Yeah, I'll probably not finish Horizon until this Christmas or something. That's a game you need to devote yourself to and I'm into jumping back and forth right now.

Yeah, the shooting in Uncharted 1 gets very tedious. That's why I usually advise people to jump straight into 2, balances the gameplay elements better and any story tidbits worth mentioning are recapped well really naturally.

Uncharted 2 is an all-around better game, no doubt, and I enjoyed it more than the first game but I do like the story of Drake's Fortune better. For whatever that's worth.

Sounds like the opposite of what people say about Bioshock 1 and 2. I have that on PS4 (collection) as well.

I just can't do that, cause it would bother me to do things out of order. Plus, I have the three games on one disc, so I don't see why I wouldn't just play them all. It doesn't seem to be a long game, other than the padding with the bullet sponges.

the bullet spongeing IS annoying. Apparently the others are better, but I'd be happier if it was just puzzles and adventure, and the rare gunfight

Me too. The gunfights are the least interesting part and there are SO MANY OF THEM.

There's fewer and fewer gunfights as the series goes on. 2 still has quite a few, but balances them better with the other elements. Once you get to the PS4 games, you spend under 1/3 of the game in combat.

I'm about 3 chapters in to Uncharted 2 and can already tell I'll probably enjoy it more.

I think this is my second gun fight, and it's really not that bad even though I stopped after dying. I am kind of embarrased the last time I played this I couldn't get past the museum guards, only to realize punching the shit out of them somehow doesn't alert other guards. That's handy ...

Ratchet and Clank was a bunch of fun. I've been meaning for years to play the whole series. Just haven't gotten around to it yet.

I'm only now playing a remake of the first one and only ever rented another one on PS4.

I've been collecting them for years. Just only dabbled in several of them so far. Well, except for that remake. Played the heck out that.

I loved the Ratchet and Clank games on PS2.  Some of the best platforming games of that generation.  Haven't played much of the PS3 and PS4 ones, though.  No disrespect to Mega Man Legends, but Ratchet and Clank is what a 3-D Mega Man game should've been.

I think the remake of the original R&C that I'm playing is still the only PS4 one.

I only played Uncharted 2. The gunplay and the platforming were weak imo. From what I've seen, the first game had more rigorous platforming. Seems like they dumbed/watered it down for the sequel. They auto corrected your jumps ffs. No sense of danger or being on the edge.

I just finished Uncharted 1 and wasn't impressed. There was way too much gunplay. It really got annoying. I'll take auto-corrected jumps ( which I haven't run into yet in 2, but I just started) over more of that damn cover shooting any day.
