Well, Saturday was Ice Cube singing my praises for coming out to a country venue (Nutty Brown Ampitheatre and Cafe) in a suburb of Austin (Dripping Springs) after SXSW was cancelled and Ice Cube said I was awesome for it and told people selling their tickets to check themselves before wrecking themselves.

Today, my university told me I'm now an online instructor from March 18 to April 6.

I realize people think this is an extended break, but online instruction actually takes more planning than face-to-face, given the need to have everything ready a week in advance. Needless to say, I'm excited but I'm not excited.

Anyway, here's Trae the Truth:

And here's Ice Cube:

Oh, and I need a new phone but I'm buying a new-to-me car from my parents, so ... that is on the backburner. Sorry, y'all. I know the quality is horrible and the verticality is bad ... this is what I got.

Stay calm and wash your hands.

My library is now closed for two weeks but I'm supposed to get paid as if paid vacation. It makes me nervous but I got to get something better anyway. There will probably be more gaming as well.

Yeah, it's a weird position for everyone and obviously bad for the economy in general.

It's like a ghost town in my normally busy area of PA.

Sooo you're saying that you enjoyed the concert so It Was A Good Day?

Man props to you instructors having to shift like this. One person I know is posting her High School lectures on YouTube for her students. It'll be interesting to see how online learning will imporve after all of this.

Yes, and he closed with that. lol

And don't praise me too hard, as what I've done this half week is "here's a discussion thread and a quiz, we'll do actual online instruction next week when everyone's out of wtf is this mode?" for two of my classes and the other two were already built online so I just copied some modules over. Gonna take it week-by-week from here and have a lot more content to show for it, but that's where we're at now.

I'm still waiting for IT to tell me if my photo students will get Adobe stuff free and thinking of an alternate assignment for those who won't be able to run it anyway.

As always, most of my work will probably get done over the weekend. Wondering what folks who teach labs like in chemistry and geology are going to do. I can tell my photo students "ok fine, use your phones" but I don't think you can do similar for mixing acids and bases.
