I Had a Nice Day at Work

Feels lovely to say that. 8am to 4pm today, 7am to 3pm tomorrow.

Only problem was ONE mistake on the damn tollway led to getting home MUCH later. How was I supposed to know that if I accidentally got off Dallas North Tollway going North, that when I did a U-turn at the next service road light, I would end up choosing between East and West? And yes, all of these are labeled Dallas North Tollway, then they all say the actual compass direction they go in below that. So more money on tolls AND gas, and traffic wasn't too great. GAHHHH!

The other minor downside is this means I'm likely not going to post my stand-up routine here before doing it live, which I was going to do to get feedback beforehand, but FUCK IT, I'LL DO IT LIVE!!! I'm also going to have to ask about certain things to do with getting the jobs and apartments I need for my Master's in the fall after 3pm tomorrow, cause there won't be time otherwise; old profs have ignored my e-mails, last week was holidays for them and this week they have advising.

Anyway, Idefinitely have to scrap the majority of my jokes I've got in my head, as it's only a four-minute set, plus have to find out what works best together, but we'll see how changing my material and actually working on it helps me this Wednesday. Hopefully, third time's a charm.

what job, if you don't mind me asking?

Snee: It's the same freelance job I've had for a while, but due to someone calling in sick and one of the hgher-ups being in Wisconsin for a funeral, they really needed me.

The reason I haven't been getting as much work is because booking switched hands from the guy that knows me really well and his crew (who texted me to come in Sunday night) to the producers, who I'm making it a point to suck up to and tell them I am in fact trained to work for them. lol

We will see how much anyone wants to see or hear my routine. lol If I do well, the Soundcloud will be posted on here and everywhere else I can think of. If I don't, then one instance of me bombing is plenty to share. lol

Well, same one, just finally got called in again. And thanks, hopefully it goes better this time since I've actually laughed at some of my bits before performing them, instead of just thinking what they would like and being hit or miss/freezing up there. We'll see.

Yay work indeed! Now I need to make sure I show the producers what a capable worker I am so they start hiring me on their sets.

It's nice working the day shift. Makes you feel almost "normal". So far I've enjoyed it myself, it's just a shame their hard to come by. Good luck with your stand up!

Yeah, I was never a morning person, and for some stupid reason, media I consumed always shit on the 9 to 5, but having had mostly jobs that take place at night and on weekends, 9 to 5 is the holy effing grail as far as I'm concerned.

And thanks!

A job, I gotta get back to work. Nearly a month and half off and the money is getting low. Gotta pay for my PS4 pre-order.

I've had three involuntary months off, so I know the feeling.

Well, I had a long enough day at work and ate little enough that I came home this week, but this does give me time to work on a Soundcloud and share with you guys before going up in front of an audience. Stay tuned, I may or may not actually do something. lol

I like my job most of the time. But I'd go nuts if I had to do it in Dallas with that traffic. I did my driver's ed there and it was tough. Best of luck to you on the new material. Writing comedy has to be tricky to say the least. Everyone has different opinions as to what is funny. It's almost like abstract art.

Yeah, and I'm watching the Bill Cosby special that made me HOWL as a kid right now and ... it's still good, but it isn't quite working like it used to. I'm telling you that to let youn know that Bill Cosby Himself is on Youtube, if you want to watch it. It is getting better as it goes on, maybe it'll start having that same effect on me it used to soon. The child birth is one of the most memorable bits from it for my money, now he's going into the actual child rearing.

And it's really not bad if you go early, but you have to go so fucking early for that to mean anything. lol I don't mind driving though, guess it runs in the family. My dad seems to like his delivery job, or if not, he certainly tolerates it to quite an extreme degree.
