Crazy Taxi was taking too long to download whatever info it was downloading and I wasn't liking all the ads that you are required to download with it anyway. So that's a no-go on my Android phone. Too bad. I really wanted to play that for free.

Come on though, it's Crazy Taxi, you're telling me all those advertisement apps you downloaded onto my phone couldn't have just been in the game?

Crazy Taxi was one of SEGA's last great arcade games.

On the 360 version of Crazy Taxi, they took out a lot of the name brands on buildings like KFC, Pizza Hut, etc.  It was actually harder to play that way because the locations were not as instantly recongnizable.

Yeah, I think I've seen you talk about that before.

A great old school arcade-like game should not come with ads. That's just wrong! I'm sure someome will come along and school me on how important capitalism and advertisement revenue are but including ads with a game download is a dick move anyway you look at it. Undecided

There were ads in the ones I played in the game itself. I don't see why it can't be done that way.

I remember playing Crazy Taxi on my Dreamcast:

"Take me to the Levi's Store!"

"Take me to the heliport!"

"Honey, I need to go to KFC!"

what a weird game.

Mmmm ... heliport KFC jeans.

Odly enough, Crazy Taxi was downloaded just fine in my Iphone and it's working perfectly. Sad it didn't work for you.

To add what Cary said above, I also heard 360 Crazy Taxi also took out the licensed music, so no The Offspring and Bad Religion. The good things is that though there's no brand stores, they left the music on the mobile Crazy Taxi.

That's cool, I care more about the licensed music, personally.

I played Crazy Taxi a couple times at an arcade I don't go to anymore. It was pretty fun, even though I'm absolutely terrible at driving games.

Yeah, I was always awful at certain arcade driving games, but I love getting behind the wheels.

That sucks it didn't download for you. On the tablets it downloaded (I play more on the Android). I saw Cary's comment and I can't remember if the tablet version did that. I'd be pissed, more because I wanted to see a Tower Records store.

Yeah, I care more about the music Alex says is on the mobile version, but if they had and took out CD Warehouse, I'd be pissed. I'm sorry, man.

that is very odd to hear given how the original game had ads in the game. I guess it might've cost too much to re-incorparate them in the game so they could change instead of being the original ones found during it's first release.

I actually got this game on XBLA but despite my love for the game it's just not the same with no Offspring soundtrack.

Yeah, it's not the same without ads and music ... at least I imagine it wouldn't be.
