Michaelangelo's Pizza

Cary mentioned last week that he had Raphael's all-meat Pizza Hut TMNT promotional cheesy bites pizza from Pizza Hut, and I said I'd try one, so I did. I went with Mikey's, which is topped with smoked ham, pepperoni, jalapenos, and pineapples cause he's the "jokester, so weird ingredients I guess. My overall impression is that it was good, but the jalapenos made it a bit too hot and I couldn't always taste all the ingredients because of it. I'm glad I went with Mikey's though, cause I really liked the combination when it wasn't overpowered by heat. Cary said he went with Raph's cause he's the best turtle, but my middle name is Michael and I'd say Mikey is the best in this new version. No, I haven't seen the movie, but the other turtles in the trailer get mentioned as "the leader," "the rebel," "the smart one," but Mikey just gets "Mikey." Why? Cause he's awesome and his parts in the trailer are the only reason I might eventually rent the movie on DVD. He seemed like the only one adding real personality to the proceedings. I could be wrong, but I'm not about to pay theater prices to find out. Tongue Out As for the cheesy bites gimmick, I'd be fine with just a stuffed cheese crust, which would serve the same purpose for me. I could just rip it off if I wanted to dip it and the pizza would be easier to hold when eating with a normal crust. I get that it's intended for people to share and dip, but honestly, I'd be just as pissed if someone took cheesy bites off my piece as I would if they ripped part of a normal cheesy crust. Oh and I got my pizza katana cut, which just means it came in four slices.

I also played Sanctum 2 yesterday and found it a bit dull. I'm not really a strategy guy, but even if I was, I felt it was too easy to just build a bunch of turrets for all the waves of enemies and shoot them dead quickly. It looks pretty and I like the art style, but I might have liked it more as just a straight FPS. Oh well, it was free.

Speaking of free, I rented The Raid 2 at Red Box yesterday as well. I'll be honest, I don't remember the actual plot points of the first one, just that it was a non-stop action ride I felt was a vastly superior action movie to 2012's Dredd, though I do really like Dredd as well. It didn't matter too much, as I was able to follow the story in this one and was once again given one of the best-directed and visually arresting action movies I have seen in my life. I was a bit more invested in the plot and characters this time around too, though I was still mostly in it for the action. If you like martial arts or action movies at all, it's a must-see. Oh and I'd suggest subtitles. I started the movie watching it dubbed and the ADR actors take it seriously, but the lip sync being so far off makes it cheesy nonetheless, and these aren't really meant to be cheesy movies. Definitely improved when I switched to Indonesian audio with English subs.

I played more of Grand Theft Auto III as well. I've gotten used to some of the bizarre controls when using my PC/360 controller, and switching to classic controls helped, but I still need to find out how to map the pause button and definitely change the gun controls. I kept failing the first gun-toting mission cause my controller is mapped so that Start is aim and fire is A. Bullshit. I'm still having fun with it, but if I want to advance, I definitely need to change those controls.

I also got a bit farther in Origins until I got stuck trying to figure out why I can't batclaw these things that say a metal claw can be attached to them. There are hooks on the ceiling I'm guessing I should use somehow, but I don't know where the switch for them is. Or maybe I'm in the wrong room altogether, but I don't think so, cause Penguin's office is right in front of this room and I already explored all the rest of this boat I think I'm able to. Huh. I'll figure it out.

Well, that's all I can think of right now. See ya later.

I remember having problems with the batclaw too.

I recall having a bit of trouble in the Penguin portion of Origins....I can't recall what that trouble was though.

That pizza sounds damned good.  What was the toppings on Donny's pizza?  I'm curious to know what that Pizza Hut (?) thinks should be on a smart person's pie lol

I know there was chicken, I wanna say onions. Forget the other two ingredients though.

Yeah, it's fun and I remember the missions I've been on so far. I'm pretty much still in the training stages and I'm enjoying it.

You got the Mikey pizza?  Blech!  I like pineapples and pineapple juice by themselves, but not on pizza.  I do like japapenos, but they don't like me.  You know the saying, 'japapenos burn going in and coming out?'  Well...anyway, even though Raph is my favorite turtle simply because of where his joystick was on the arcade game, I didn't really pick the Raphael pizza because he's my favorite.  I only said that to sound silly and stupid, which you might notice I do that a lot.  Really the reason why we went with the Raph pizza is it had ingredients we would lilke the most.  The cheesy bites crust was OK.  It made it a little harder to hold the pizza but that's it.  The crust looked like little toes, so we called it 'turtle toes.'  The whole thing is just a silly markerting gimmick, but you know what?  We both fell for it.  But what good is life if you can't do silly stuff like that every now and then?

You know what Pizza Hut should do next?  They should make a Pac-Man pizza!  It could have all yellow ingredients, like...uh, cheese.  Maybe they could make a yellow tomato sauce.  They do have yellow tomatoes, so maybe that could happen.  Then before you got your pizza, they'd take a slice out of it so it looked like Pac-Man.  I don't know what they'd do with all those extra slices, I guess they'd have to eat them.  So by the end of the Pac-Man promotion, all Pizza Hut employees would be ten pounds fatter.  So what do you think of my idea? :)

Ewwww toes. Definitely not something I want to think about when eating. lol And yeah, I was being stupid too, I just thought Mikey's pizza had the most interesting combo and I like trying new things.

I think I'd be mad if I had a Pac-Man pizza. Easier to just eat that slice yourself and take a picture once it looks like Pac-Man. lol

I think Mikey's pizza was chosen less because of his personality and more because he always had weird pizza toppings plinkett peanut butter and clams. Been rewatching a lot of that cartoon lately since Amazon Prime has seasons 2-3 really cheap

Huh. I watched the first episode on YouTube recently and it seemed like they all discussed toppings that are often considered weird or gross (at least to April), but I guess Mikey doing that more could be another reason.

The Pizza Hut website just says it's cause he's the "jokester" though, and the other pizzas are similarly based on what kind of character the turtle is. Like Donny has "smart/healthy" toppings and Raph has all-meat cause he's ornery I guess. I'm willing to believe that's about all the thought that went into this. lol

..Heard about them pizza's..Not sure if my family will bother ordering those..I'm mostly a 'boring' person and just go with the usual of pepperoni or sausage..(Or both.) Not sure what it is but sometime around this year or so I sometimes start to get tired of pizza..Thinking of learning to cook some stuff but..that's it's own little project to consider starting..

To be honest, while I'm glad I tried something new and enjoyed the pizza, I probably should have just used some Domino's coupons and gotten a couple of their mediums for roughly the same price or even slightly under. Or used Pizza Hut coupons on something else ...

I just liked the idea of a pizza promotion with Ninja Turtles. lol

Cooking is a good thing to think about though. I still need to figure out how to do it while living on my own. I mean I can cook eggs, mac n cheese, chicken, steak, burgers, etc and know how I like them seasoned well enough, but I'd like to make myself a proper meal instead of just boring entrees and whatnot.

Yeah I watched the Raid 2 the other day too and it's fucking awesome. Literally, after it was done I watched it again. You're right, the Indonesian track is FAR superior to the dub... Oh well.

The movie is just filled with holy shit moments though! The woman with claw hammers was particularly memorable, and the guy who hits baseballs at people. But that car chase was also amazing! And... okay, I'll stop gushing. The movie is just all kinds of awesome!

I loved that they had a car chase in it and took it more places (in terms of setting) than the original. I'm hoping if Dredd has a sequel, it will take things up a notch in a similar fashion as well.

I really want a Raid video game. I'm thinking it could be in the style of those Naruto fighting games, with a super-deep combat system full of parrys and such.

A Raid game would be amazing! Actually, have you seen V/H/S/2? Because the director of The Raid does a short story in that about a cult with a lot of the actors from The Raid 2. I think that would also make a fucking awesome game. Seriously, he does horror really well as well, and everything he touches I think "I want to play that in a game!" Although this short is very Silent Hill-esque.

Damn I'm pissed I did see Raid 2 when it was in the theaters. I noticed it one day when I was looking for a movie to see, and I was depressed, and didn't bother. Darn it!

I just drank another 32 oz sweet tea and ran up a hill for almost 30 seconds three different times. I, at this moment, am anything but hungry.

Yeah GTA III! I think that one and one of the random PSP games are the only GTA games I haven't finished. I should download it for the tablet, I'll probably play through it.

I'm having trouble with a couple of the missions. I'm definitely liking phone booth guy's missions a lot more than Toni or Joey's.

I'm so behind on the TMNT that I didn't even know about the Pizza hut promo. Not sure if I'd even bother with it. I remmeber getting into their promos back in the past but that could've been dominos. I can't remember.

I'm havinga  hard time trying to get use to Sanctum 2 on XBLA. I like tower defense, I like FPS's. but for some reason I can't get into this kind of game. Not sure if it's the FPS view or the tower building options that are not really that tall. I've DLed and deleted the demo far to many times. I want to give it a chance but I continue to "not feel it".
